Paid for my extended warranty on 9th March this year .. and the paperwork has just arrived this morning .. 6 weeks later..... the envelope was marked "Priority" ! Made me chuckle.
Seriously though, K bang on about, as everyone seems to these days a " great customer experience" and "we value your custom" etc etc .... I don't think waiting 6 weeks for something I paid £400 for is very good service at all.... it is only a single sided bit of A4 with a sticker on it ... surely that doesn't take 6 weeks to process !
It does if you only have one secretary doing the whole countries paperwork. :mfr_lol:
If it's any consolation you were covered from the moment they accepted the payment.
In other news I won a mudguard for the Superdream on eBay 2 weeks ago that has yet to be delivered.
Have contacted the seller and have heard some really silly excuses like wrong address (it is correct, unless he wrote it wrong on the box), that it would cost money to get it back (yeah bollox!).
Should I contact eBay first or Paypal? Anyone have any experiences of dealing with piss poor service on eBay?

Its all done via ebay, from your "my ebay", go to the list of items you won, drop down menu on the right, open a case or summit like that.

Nigel, that sticker is very important. Make sure you stick it over the other sticker in your handbook.
12hrs O/T I remember those days.....twas a long time ago though! :mfr_lol:
Mine took a good while to arrive too.
Then a few weeks later a second one arrived.
Moggie .... Why does that not surprise me ? :mfr_lol:
Just like policemen, never there when you need one, and then loads turn up  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
:agree:   :mfr_lol:
Fleabay purchase resolved. He'd addressed it to the wrong number so I went and collected it last night.
Shame I had to invoke the Fleabay complaints procedure to get an answer though.
Rusty, be grateful that you have the extended warranty.
My GTR turns 6 years old on the 4th Aug. and I couldn't afford the renewal when the original 2 years expired.
Would have been useful when my clutch plate expired.
Surely the clutch would be excluded as a normal wear and tear item ? same as tyres, pads, chains etc (I know we dont have a chain  )
Coman
It would if it wore out. My clutch plate ended up in about 7 pieces.
I think the plate was badly made as only one friction plate was affected.
Still had plenty of friction material on both sides but was all broken up.
Even if a clutch is worn out after 3 years that's not normal wear and tear. It should last a lot longer!
Boom ... I am grateful that I have the funds to pay for the warranty and realise that i was covered as soon as I parted with my £ ... I just thought waiting 6 weeks for a bit of paper was a little longgggggggggggggggggggggg ....
My additional 2 year warranty has just ended and today I'm off to have the tyre pressure sensors replaced at no cost. This was my one and only issue in the 3 yrs I've owned the bike. Lets hope it stays this way.
I can't recall how long the confirmation took to come through from K UK but it was in place from the moment that the dealer took my cash.

Well, what a carry-on to get the extended warranty. :death:
Went to my Kawasaki dealership today to buy the extended warranty.
First they couldn't agree who is selling those - Sales or Service?
The sales guys claimed they could only sell it with a new bike and the service guys had never done it.
Finally he sold me the extended warranty for £350 and went onto the internet to register it for me.
Just to find out, that the registration period had expired.
Now that couldn't be right since they sold me the bike on 4/6/11 so I have a whole month left to purchase it. :ohplease:
So he got on the phone and rang Kawasaki and was told that I had to buy it on-line myself since dealers can only sell it within 3 months of purchase.
Being a nice guy he went onto the website and tried to buy it for me only to find out that firstly it wasn't £350 but £395 and that you need a Paypal or Google account to be able to pay for it.
Now I haven't got either of those and no intention to get one, so I had to go back home and rang Customer Service myself.
After waiting for a few minutes I finally got somebody on the line just to be told exactly the same story - You can only buy the extended warrant on-line at kawasaki-warranty.co.uk and you can only pay with Paypal or google.
I wasn't happy about that and asked if she is trying to tell me that it is :censored: Kawasaki policy that only people with :censored: Paypal or google accounts are allowed to get extended warranties for their bikes? :2guns: :2guns:
That obviously made her think and suddenly she remembered that there might be a form that they can send me so I can pay by debit card.
And lo - in the end I was able to pay for it over the phone with my debit card after all.
I am not impressed! :2guns: :2guns:
Blimey how things have changed.
Last August (2012) I purchased the extended warrenty via a Kawasaki dealer, this was about 1 month/6 weeks before the standard one expired. It was a new Kawasaki dealer and it was the first one they had done but they did it via their Kawasaki login.
Kind regards
Steve

Why should I?
It may be 'secure' but I don't like the business model of companies like Facebook, Fleabay, Amazon, Paypal or Google and don't want anything to do with them.
They are :censored: parasites and make billions through collecting personal data to sell it to dubious marketing companies and the CIA. :death:
I can pay nearly everything else with my debit card on the net - so why can't Kawasaki put that option on their website too?
It would be in their own interest since I have a phone flat-rate and it doesn't cost me anything to ring Kawasaki Customer Service but they have to pay someone to answer the phone. :ohplease:
Mecki, fair comment, calm down before you burst a blood vessel! :mfr_lol:
There is Free Riders Club offer with extended warenties also :-)

Whats that then?
Well got to defend MR K, i went into my local dealer for some pictures of warranty work ( exhaust and suspension adjuster ) the dealer called me after two days to say MR K had approved the claim, the parts arrived within 4 days and were fitted today, 6 days in total. I think that is a result and first class service from MR K and the dealer, J&S Doncaster.
Zed, nice one. That's what you should come to expect if the bike is under warranty. I've had similar experiences with my warranty claims.
Zedman ... that is good service

Good result Zed, and it's great to hear some positive comments about Kawasaki UK.... I've always reckoned that they are better than most people give them credit for
Over 30 years now i have owned Kawasaki's , i can honestly say i have NEVER had a bad experience with a warranty claim. I must say though this is the first time that a dealer has not had a loan bike to offer, i asked why, and they said it is because the insurance and XS is sky high.
I was told MR K had given 2 hours to do the warranty work ( exhaust and suspension Adjuster ) so i said i would wait, it only took 1.5 hours and lots of free coffee.
Good result then and you could have been tempted to have a good spend in those 1.5 hours Zed :mfr_lol:
The loan bike thing is a big problem for some dealers especially those with a bad claims record on their business insurance, however I'm sure there are ways round it with disclaimers etc.,
OC -- thats why i like a loan bike, its far too tempting to browse, :mfr_lol: just got back from Oulton Park and got some bargains there.
