I just re-insured with Carole Nash or my two bikes on multibike policy Kawasaki GTR 1400, Yamaha FZ1S Fazer 1000, 10 years no claims, European cover, Breakdown and legal protection & helmet and leathers cover protection £350 excess cost £350 for year. Could have had it cheaper by about £80 shopping about,  but like Carole Nashes level of cover and reputation.

Used to be a time when insurance premiums reduced each year if you didn't have a claim

These days I'm afraid its a case of the price being jacked up automatically...there's no benefit in showing your loyalty to most insurance companies as they generally don't demonstrate loyalty to their customers

Shopping around is the best way to get a competitive deal, which is why price comparison sites are now much more popular.

Well said OC ... AND that is a big hike in premium.
On the other hand I recently shopped around back in Feb as I run with Benetts every year and I couldn't get close ... The underwriter is Equity Star and it,s just over a squid a day.

well my insurance seems to be bucking the trend, for the last 5 years it has consistently reduced in price

Im just in the process of renewing it and it has come in at the lowest price of

£128 , fully comp, £300 excess, manc postcode, 47 years of age, 10 years plus no claims

it is through meerkats and with swinton bikes, I paid £190 last year  and there are 10 or more companies quoting less than that on the website. I probably wont go with the cheap quote as it is basic , but will probably upgrade to around the £180 mark and get helmet and leather cover and a few extra frilly bits

Just renewed mine today.  Last year I was £184 for my 09 bike paying an additional 45 when I got my 2011 machine. That was with Swinton who at the time were a lot cheaper than my previous insurer Hastings Direct.  My renewal with them this year came in at £242.00 so back to the comparison websites (as you should) and it's now back down to £149 with no voluntary excess .....with Hastings Direct   and just as a tip to anyone, try several comparison sites as Hastings came in on two with different quotes!

My car insurance went up this year, I was told it just one of those things, too many compensation claims getting paid out for imaginary injuries....

I use TheBikeInsurer every renewal and also cross check with TescoCompare and MCNcompare.
I've been with Aquote for several years now and they have yet to try and shaft me, but I still check every year.

Carole Nash wanted just over £1000 to insure five bikes, all modified, on a single policy this year which was up from £860 last year. I queried it and was told they had to go on a 'custom policy' because of the modifications.

I wondered what eBike would want for two policies (they have a limit of 4 bikes on a policy) and was quite pleased to see they had a special offer on  - buy a standard policy and get a classic policy for free. Four bikes insured for around £390 with all modifications declared and the FJ was insured via the free classic policy. I think that was a bit of a result.

There you go, whats good for one is not good for another, Auntie Carol has always been the cheapest for me, well for the last six years anyway, i always compare then ring Carol to get there quote down.

Must be because i am old, but not as old as 100milesaway.

Just got my reminder from CN £560 down from £565  last year and they have reduced the excess on my 1980 GSX 1100 from £250 to £25. This is to cover all 7 bikes, no one else will cover more than 4 without losing NCD on the 6th+7th ( I could cover the GSX on a free classic policy with EBike like Kevin) ZZR on its own is £160???? All in all not very competitive but I am happy, less than £2 a day to ensure my enjoyment
