Yes, finally the Wolf managed to get out for a ride without being hindered by the snow or threat of snow.
A few weeks ago I joined my local IAM group (I've had enough of RoSPA) :whistling: & I thought it'd be beneficial to get some proper training in before my Scottish tour in a few months time.
10:30 this morning 16 of us met at Murgatroyds Fish shop at Yeadon, just south of Leeds Bradford Airport. The total route was about 90 miles mainly country lanes and "B" roads and absolutely NO MOTORWAYS!!
Plenty of snow around on the hills but not too cold. Loads of rock salt on the roads and especially on the corners....nice.

I've never done these routes before and never even been to Burnsall, which was our first stop for a warm drink.

Plenty of BMW's :sleep1: with the GTR skulking in the background.

From Burnsall we travelled the 11 miles of scenic Littondale, probably one of the most beautiful areas of the Yorkshire Dales.

Finally we ended up in Settle for a late lunch at Ye Olde Naked Man. Had a great steak & Ale pie, (don't tell Winston). Settle was choc a block with bikers.

Even the dogs were chilling out in the sunshine. (It looks dead but don't worry it's just resting) :mfr_lol:

Just out of pure curiosity, Just looking at the 5th Pic, the reg plates on British bikes look absolutely MASSIVE! Is that the smallest legal size?
Did I say nice pics?

Yup, the motorcycle designers spend thousands designing a streamlined, low drag wing mirror and then DVLA throw all their gains in efficiency away with a barn door number plate, and all because some senile British coppers :police: can't read smaller plates at more than 50' away without their bottle-bottom glasses on. Strange that the coppers in the rest of the world seem to cope. My other pet hate here is what is with the stupid letters/numbers combination? Who cares where the car was first registered, who cares what year it was registered? Now it's all computerised what is wrong with allowing people to buy a cherished number plate so long as it is unique. I'd like to register BOOMER but instead I have to get B100MER (Bloomer!?!?!?! :mfr_lol:) if it was ever used in the first place. The USA uses it as another way of taxing car use. Want a cherished plate, pay lots of money every year. If you don't care then you don't pay and get a randomly generated number plate.
Nice photos Steve ... glad to see you were at last able to get out and about after a few weeks off ... but still SO much snow up there !
