Title: Yokes / triple trees
Post by: Richard on April 03, 2013, 09:23:10 PM

Hi

The steering on my trike is heavy, I need to reduce the trail on the front wheel.
Considered leading link, but they are ugly and ££££££
I have now found and engineering company who will make raked yokes to my spec, (having failed to find anyone who makes them for the 1400GTR) but I need a set of original yokes as patterns.
Does anyone know if these are these the same as mine?

Richard, I couldn't say if those clamps are the same as the ones fitted to your trike, nor do I have any practical experience of trikes or their steering, but I reckon that a longer reach on the forks will improve handling, I could be talking tosh (again) but my understanding is that a longer rake on the front forks is a benefit to trike handling

With regard to sourcing spares ~ I have dealt with Steeles cycles in the States and they are generally very good, however this place is closer to home and are also very good and helpful, I think the guys name in the parts dept; is Pete and by shopping in the U.K you will avoid import taxes, extra VAT and Post Office charges which will make any overseas purchase sooooo much more expensive....believe me I know, yo my cost.

Here's a link to help you  its a massive list of parts and I haven't checked it all....good luck

Yes, identical. The ZG1400 is the 1400GTR.
In the USA it is called the "Concours 14"

If they were ZX1400 (ZZR1400) yokes then the rake would have been steeper.

Give these guys a call, nothing they don't know about suspension, official ohlins stockists, they prepare many race teams bikes, top boys. Angie is getting an Ducati 848 and they are going to lower it for her so all is in line and the handling will not be compromised, she is 5' 2" so needs lowering 70mm.
