Too much info Dave, but good to hear that you are back on your feet again and not glued to the pot, I had actually noticed that you were missing and therefore conspicuous by your absence
The Novovirus bug is contageous but I don't think you will have caught it from this forum...maybe the ZZR site :mfr_lol:
Definately the ZZR Site!
Dave its Karma for jumping ship and getting a ZZR :mfr_lol:
it could possible be ZZR related  things have been moving much faster lately :mfr_lol:
I'm still laughing now. :mfr_lol:

I take it that you are refering to old folk such as myself Dave. Well just for the record, for an old codger I am quite sprightly on the old pins, however, as you stated advancing years sometimes bring some rather unpleasant ( brown) :embarrassed: moments, BUT they do say older is wiser :smartass:.So as you have learned we are not always as sharp out of the blocks as we once were. So to avoid those !! Touching cloth moments !! I always wear Pampers. And I would recommend them to anyone, particulary those of us that buy the wrong bike , that is way to fast for them, and then proceed to scare themselves :shit: less and then blame the following messy stain :shit: on some disease, or dodgy curry. Yes I know your problem is nothing to laugh about BUT :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :whistling:
if the cap fits.... :whistling:
however.. I feel I must point out that the zzr1441 is not to fast for me  it maybe a case of me becoming to slow for the zzr1441 in a few more years  most likely then will get another GTR for my later years when I feel it time to wind down :mfr_lol:
So if you have the shits you won't be up for a ride out this weekend then?
only off Sunday this week and as yet I've no plans, hopefully things would have hardened up by then :whistling: if you remember, I had this dam stomach virus about 5 weeks ago  and the virus decided to pay me another visit starting of last week  I'm not as bad as I was, so plan on starting a 4 day week from tomorrow. if your out and about or paying a visit to the bridge let me know  I really need to put some mileage on my ZZR  managed to get the first service done at 580 miles 5 weeks after I pick it up, since then and due to the weather and the dam virus which I've had twice now  I've only been out on my ZZR twice

Virus my :asshole:. I reckon you should keep a check on what your missus is feeding you, they have been known to poison their husbands ya know. On a brighter note I will be up at the bridge on Sunday, along with a few of my pals, and will be looking to do a few miles after filling up with egg and bacon butties and vast ammounts of tea.

you can't make me :sweatdrop: at a mere 300 miles  I've ridden from Charmont france to liverpool in 10 hours a mere 722 miles  and often cover 300 miles around north wales on day rides  which I'm sure Mr wolf will confirm  seeing that he as accompanied me on 2 occasions
I can confirm what 2kwacks is saying. We have on more than one occasion done a 300 miler. Most I've ever personally done on the GTR in one day was 630 miles approximately when I went to Christchurch from Bradford & back to collect the new (er) GTR. I was :censored: knackered at the end.
That is some milage boys .. 600 - 700 miles would be really knackering .. especially on a Motorw .... Sorry, I was going to write that M word but don't want to risk the health of those who are in their 60's ..... anyway as I was saying ... 600 miles cross country .... :whistling: :whistling: ....
On a stock 1400GTR 600 miles would kill me, but I've done over 1000 miles in 18 hours on my GTR1000 with no problems other than boredom.
The 1000 does have an ULTRA comfy seat, bar-risers, huge screen etc.
Ella and I did Weymouth and back in a day (went to see Skidmarx) so have done nearly 400 miles in a day, but we had lots of breaks.
My solo record on the 1400 is 580 miles riding back from Mellrichstadt in Germany in one day.
Had some fun on the A3 Autobahn with a ZX12R and used far too much petrol.
An Autobahn is like a motorway but at 120 to 160Mph there is no way it can be described as boring.
Uneconomical, scary, exciting, focussed, but never boring.

Yes I have read it, and as I have said many times on here, motorways are for folk in a rush, or people who have no appreciation of the beauty to be seen whilst using other less frequented roads. I used the German autobahns once whilst on a trip to Austria, and to be honest it scared the shit :shit: out of me. No matter how fast I was going there was ALWAYS someone in my mirror looking to go faster :sweatdrop: . Motorcycling should be fun  , and I just cant see how anyone could gleen any fun from just droning along in a straight line on a bike  :sleep1: . I still love getting a shift on, but I am never in a rush. Dave the bridge is 43 miles from my palace in the Dales, but I have been up there 3 times already this week, and this time of year we have to be sensible regarding how far we go, taking into account failing light, and weather conditions. BUT in summer it is not unusual for us to meet at 7 bells and not get home until 10 pm, I'm sure you will be up for some of that  . Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, unless your good lady has seen you off by then with some dodgy welks or a rancid curry.
Geoff .. sounds like you get some decent miles in to get your bacon sarnies ... even at this time of year .. commendable indeed. You are of course spot on with your idea of enjoying the ride.

Geoff my old chum  No biker likes motorways  but there a necessary evil.. a means to a end  and well worth the time I spent on them to visit the French/swiz alps and the italian lakes and other places that would otherwise take all bloody day just to get there if motorways weren't used  I've done the French and swiz alps trip on my 2008 ZZR1400 and on my 2010 GTR1400 and both bikes just swallowed the miles up with extreme ease  I had no significant aches or pains on either bike after 10 hours in the saddle. but overall the ZZR get's my vote due to it's blistering acceleration and being alot more fun on the twisties

Half eleven  Ferkin day will be half over by then. Ya should get yerself another bird, one that realizes that bikers leave home at the crack of dawn, and come home when the dot goes off. Whatever happened to men who put woman firmly in their place. woman should be happy to spend all afternoon running a bath, and cooking a 4 course meal for when you return from a FULL days motorcycling with your OLD mates. And then when you are washed and fed a proper woman would read a motorcycle magazine to you until you finally nod off :sleep1: Ah the end of a perfect day  :whistling:

Geoff, I may just come along, I'm going stir crazy not riding the bike. I'm hoping to have a short ride Friday and then either get out Saturday or Sunday weather permitting. I'm still recovering from a minor incident involving me in a car (thankfully) and a 44 ton arctic which jumped some trafic lights on the 28th March. My backs not 100% yet but I should be strong enough to hold the bike up.

I managed to find one that not only bought the bike for me, but is happy for me to spend all day out on it, either with or without her. We're off to Devon for the weekend on it.
Mind you, i wouldn't let her do the cooking, much safer if i do that...
It was on a rest day, minding my own business taking my hounds to the woods and then crunch.
