My city lights were a dull white colour compared to the headlights, I know that you can get ultra white LED globes and while looking I found a multitude of different colours, Since the bike was green I thought I would go for the green LED globes.
These are cheap and as it turns out very easy to change.
First consult the service manual.

Good idea.
Can you get black ones as that's the colour bike I have?
Alan
(Well it is April 1st)
Highett (Paul). I see you are with Ulysses. I'm with the Canberra Branch (Branch secretary). Perhaps we'll catch up - Not at this years' AGM though as I will not be there. Can you please also advise what is the GTR-AUS group all about. Do you have regular ride meets, and where are the majority based?.
Thanks,
Chris, Ulysses #59093

Catching up would be good, your not far from me as I am in Singleton.
I am not going to the AGM, timing is all wrong for me
GTR-Aus is a resource site, a lot of GTR info there for both 1000 and 1400 GTR's, go and have a look.

Can you post wher you obtained the bulbs, wattage, pin array etc before I go diving in, please
Just done a bit or research into green light.
This form Norfolk police
Lighting Offences:
Blue lights - Under the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989, it states "except for emergency vehicles it is an offence to fit a blue warning beacon or special warning lamp or device resembling such whether working or not"
Fog lights - For vehicles fitted with front fog lights (rear fog lights are also included), it is an offence to illuminate them unless visibility is seriously reduced, which is defined as driving in rain, snow or fog with visibility less than 100 metres. Fog lights cause dazzle to other drivers and can attract a £30 Fixed Penalty Notice.
Other lights - It is an offence to show a red light to the front of a vehicle (including a reflector) and a white light to the rear unless reversing. Once again these offences are dealt with by means of a £30 Fixed Penalty Notice. It does not matter if the lights are mounted inside or outside the vehicle, just that the light can be seen from the outside. This would also include neon lights fitted under or on the side of a vehicle and red LED windscreen washer jets. Green lights can only be fitted on Medical Practitioners vehicles.
In theory I agree you shouldn't use coloured lights, green, blue etc. But Asif had blue lights fitted to his and never had any issues.
Obviously Australia is different but based on what was said I checked out the NSW Transport Vehicle Regulations and white and yellow are the only colors allowed as running or parking lights on the front.
So thanks for the heads up Burchy
So I will see what the yellow looks like
Cheers
Paul
Sorry, missed that you are in Oz, but seems similar rules apply!
No worries Burchy,
Your prompt on the UK regs got me to check ours, so all is good.
I have ordered the bright yellow and bright white, they are small change cheap with free delivery.
I will post a photo later of what they look like.
Cheers
Paul
I know there's black & white, and then there is grey. Here in Oz I doubt that city lights would attract the law. It's the issue of too much hi-vis bling as is seen by the nut-case rev heads doing street drags in crappy skylines and such that are over the top. Like all things, 'all in moderation'.
I couldn't agree more, but there are some over-zealous jobsworth police around here who will "do" you at the drop of a hat. My son was done for an alleged small number plate. We had all the paperwork with us to say it was OK, but he just said that he had a target to meet, had his little template and hard luck. No comment on the Kerker exhaust!

Agreed,
We have them here too,
Some will do you for the slightest thing.
Bit sad really when it gets nit picky like that
