I have an aftermarket tall screen. don't know what make as it was on the bike when i bought it.
I took the screen off today to clean the black panel under it and discovered the the 2 large middle screws fit through the holes in the screen and therefore don't actual contribute to holding the screen on the bike. The holes in the screen dont look worn or damaged.
I checked the original screen and the holes on that are smaller so the screws would be holding the screen to the brackets.
Any thoughts?

I'm sure mine have some plastic washers on them
Just had a look at mine.. The top and bottom ones hold the black cover on and screw down onto the bracket thus gripping the screen..
The middle one is a large dome head which is uncovered when the black cover is taken off, and that also grips the screen....perhaps a washer underneath would help?
Saying that its held top and bottom already.....
I think there should be two plates the lower one being fastened by one central screw and the upper one being secured by two srews (one top and one bottom) I would have to go out and look at my bike to confirm
Your picture seems to show a fitment with no top plate/cover
I have the top covers and its only those 4 screws that are securing the screen. I'll get a couple of washers for the larger centre screws.

The centre screws hold the screen in place until you get the plastic bits screwed on.
These are what really clamps the screen to the bracket.
The centre screws should have a nylon washer between the screw and the screen.
The centre screws have a habit of rounding so mine both have slots cut in them so I can use a 2p coin to undo them.
Thanks for all your replies
