If Kawasaki were to consult us with regard to a new GTR I wonder what modifications or imoprovements we would suggest. Lower pillion footrests as standard would be one. Any more thoughts? You never know they might be reading the forum.
There will be loads of recommendations from the well informed members on here I'm sure :whistling:
Bigger Screen
Better Brake discs/pads
Larger moe secure Panniers
Cruise control
Adjustable seat
Adjustable suspension
Improved lighting
PR3 OEM Tyres..............etc etc
No Tyre pressure monitors ( or ones that make battery changes easy)
12000 mile service intervals
Hugger and fender extenders already fitted
Some built in tip over protection would set a precedent
Always amazes me you can spend 13 grand on a bike , then have to spend a fortune putting stuff on it to make it work properly..... doesn't happen with 4 wheels

Good question this Mr Sausage, After two years as a GTR owner, this is my take on what most owners want, A bigger engine, as this one will only cruise at 120 mph all day long. More torque, as this one has only got enough grunt to pull football stadium floodlight pylons out of the ground. At least another 10 fixing points to attach pointless gadgets/gizmos. PR3 tyres as it is plain to see that every other tyre on the market is unsuitable for the GTR. A screen at least twice as big as the present one, as some people still get the sensation that they are actually riding a motorbike. Cruise control, for those folk that get their kicks from riding in a straight line for mile after mile after mile aft :sleep1: this device must have a built in banking sensor for when the inevitable happens and you fall asleep :sleep1: The bike must also include tarmac blistering headlights at twice the power of the present standard issue item, even though most folk dont ride at night. The machine must be fitted with !!Bumpers!! like an old dodgem, as well as front/rear/side cameras, with built in alarm bells, just in case another motorist comes within 10 mtr of you, the machine should also be fitted with a hob nail boot attached to a artificial telescopic leg, that could fend off any errant car driver that may be in a rush because they are late for an appointment ( at specsavers). And last but not least, the bike should be fitted with a huge ground level suction device, that will make huggers, fender extenders, and even having to wash a bike ever again a thing of the past, the sucker will have its own tank, and when full a light will glow on the dash, which will then enable you to pull onto the nearest grass verge and "Dump" all the crap that would otherwise be plastered all over your bike. And then for next years model we could have ejector seats and !!!!!!!!!!!! oh you get the idea. :smartass: :whistling:
Nah, don't want that bike.
Alan
Thats a brilliant post from 100milesaway, sounds like a bike that already exist on here ? :mfr_lol: just needs to paint it the new fastest colour Hi Viz of course :whistling:

Just take the panniers off and there you go.
Make a factory seat that somebody somewhere can ride for more than 2 hours without getting the arse-ache! (replace saddle)
Stop limiting the torque in 1st-3rd. (re-flash or remove 2ndary butterflies)
Ditch the linked brakes, they suck. (don't buy a 2010-)
The Bridgestone OEM tyres are :shit: :shit: :shit: :shit: :shit: :shit: :shit: Fit something else,.... anything else! (PR3s)
Motorcycles are VERY personal things. You'll let your better half drive your car (especially when you've had a few) but you won't let him/her ride your bike.
The manufacturers know this so they sell a bike that suits "Mr Average" but that everyone else can adapt to suit them.
Mine has hugger, topbox, 2Bros silencer, hand deflectors, tall screen, PR3s, an accessory fusebox and 2nd cigarette lighter socket, and grip puppies.
It did have a custom saddle until I got credit crunched but a new one is in my future.

Is it?,
First time I have heard of that, why, to protect drive chain?

They claim it's to make it safer at lower speeds/gears. Lots of bikes do this these days, even top end sports bikes.
If you remove the 2ndary butterflies you gain a couple of Bhp but nearly 15Lbft at 2500rpm and more lower down.
Most of the people I know of who have done this say the bike is smoother and easier to ride, you lose about 1Mpg, and the launch is nearly into ZZR1400 territory.
Guhl will re-flash your ECU to achieve this. This is the best option for the 2010-
You can remove the 2ndaries yourself but best with a Power Commander fitted and tuned.
You can buy the GiPro ATRE which is cheap but could also use the Power Commander and disables your gear indicator.
Factory standard the 1400 delivers about 135Bhp at the rear wheel.
I've seen one dyno that showed 170Bhp at the rear wheel but most of the tuned (2ndaries removed, new exhaust, Power Commander, new air-filter, etc) 1400GTRs/Concours 14s get about 150-160 at the rear wheel.
However, the low rpm torque is what attaracts most people, and with a trike I would imagine it would make quite a difference.
Here is a Dyno chart with/without the 2ndaries. The bike is otherwise stock.

Ok, heres a novel idea .... how about a choice of 2 engine sizes ,save a bit on weight and size etc , not everybody is interested in jet fighter acceleration , .................ok i got my coat , TAXI !!! :whistling:
Slane ... what a stupid idea .. go on .. get your coat ! :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Bend over a take a smack, now go and stand in the corner and keep quiet.
You have confused the ideas with these.. :nono: :mfr_lol:
If you want less power, weight, etc. try a BMW F800GT.
Kind of a mini sports-tourer for those who don't have the POWER disease.
Me? I have it in spades. I want an MTT Turbine Streetfighter and a ZZR1400R with a turbo,.... both with JATOs fitted!
