Title: HID fitting and wiring.
Post by: trousersnake01 on March 29, 2013, 10:59:36 AM
Has anyone ever fitted HID's to their GTR as I'm losing the plot as I can not get them to work.
I had a set working on the bike that suddenly stopped so I thought dodgy set.  so went back to normal bulbs.

Then I bought myself another set of HID's. and they won't work either.
it so simple wiring a child can do it but they won't work on the bike.
I have a live from the battery that's permanently live. two negatives and the head light plug.
all connections tested and working but they won't bloody work.
if I leave the head light plug in to throw the relay and provide external power plus and minus they work.  but won't when taking power from the bike although I know it's there working with a meter on it.
it's driving me up the wall.

This subject is well covered on here as a couple of members have done this mod..personally I agree with 100 MA as unless you are frequently at night then I can't see the point...no pun intended

I also wouldn't bother.. Went to no end of trouble to get a nice neat install.. Then the beam pattern was awful, dazzling oncoming traffic on dip and illuminating road signs on the opposite carriageway..

So took them off.. And sold them.  :whistling:

Having had them working, I preferred them, much brighter then OEM, however the main beam OEM is better.
