Title: exhaust paint
Post by: Essex Boy on March 17, 2013, 11:35:07 AM
I guess this has been covered before but my green 2012 purchased bike is now losing flakes of black paint from the exhaust where the silver end cap attaches.

the rest of it seems as if there is sandy grit under the surface. very strange.

not happy on a 12 month old bike especially as I don't [ressure wash anything ever !

you only have one option get the bike back to your main dealer and get it sorted out under the warranty,

Bought the extended warranty on my last gtr1400 and never used it, passed it on to the next owner. this bike keeps mucking me about. Wish I had bought the extra 2 years now.  :hammer:

why do you need  the extra 2 year warranty yet? if your bike is a 2012 model it isn't two years old yet .so it should still be covered by your original maufacturers   2 warranty. i  am right in thinking on the original purchase you do get a two year warranty dont you ?????

Essex Boy, I had mine changed under warranty for the exact seem reason, no quibble whatsoever and the amount of paint which had peeled was about the size of my little finger nail.

Not blonde 100MA but not a lot between my ears perhaps  !

My paint problem is about 2 inches long by half inch wide. Its strange isn't it that theres no corrosion under the paint, just looks like the paint hasn't bonded to the metal.

I think I will report it to Colchester Kawasaki and wait til next service, that only be about 2 months off.

Come on someone, after the last few days, a comment, on 2inches long, and half and inch wide....

I would comment, but I'm feeling all inferior just now
