Title: An alternative to the standard passenger pegs
Post by: hurricane on March 15, 2013, 09:01:20 AM
Took the better half for her first longer run on the GTR last weekend. She liked the peg lowering kit from ProjektD, but no so much the pegs themselves. She wants something a bit more substantial to put her feet on (this is one place the FJR does better - pillion comfort). Especially with ProjektD handylift I've also got bolted on, I can see her point. So, does anybody know of a set of pegs from another bike that would slide straight on?.

Thanks heaps!

Chris

- yeah , the stock passenger pegs are very minimalist.

They are available as a complete kit from here, and actually utilise the FJR pegs

I believe its possible to fit pegs with rubber covers straight from a Kawasaki ER6F (or N) I'm not sure which, but they are OEM parts and can be pricey, unless you can find some on fleabay........ D&K usually have 'breakers' bits.

I fit some ZZR ones, at least I think that's what they are, they required small modification but seem to be ok, they don't actually lower the peg position though, merely bolt into the original aperture

Mine has GTR1000 pillion pegs fitted but they have been modified to make them a little wider.
I tried several aftermarket pegs and none of them were right for SWMBO.
I made some footplates for her on the 1000 and she loved those but I had a habit of ripping my shins apart on them when I went to push the bike backwards.
