Title: Hi, My name is Kevin
Post by: KeVstrom on March 14, 2013, 08:59:38 PM
Hi, My name is Kevin, and i have an addiction to buying motorbikes. Over the past 4 years, ive had 6 bikes, most of the time running 2 bikes a year. I live in the North East of a small island called England, in a province called Wallsend which is part of the State of Newcastle (why aye pet man) Upon Tyne. This is my very recently purchased a Neptune Blue 2010 plate 1400GTR CAF.

Ive been known to mess about with my cars and bikes, chances are, this GTR will also get some gubbins added to it, but maybe ive finally got to the bike im gonna keep for longer than a year. So if you see me tootling about on this, give us a wave.

The bikes looking good Kev, and if you have an addiction to buying bikes, then you will find that there are others on here who are suffering in the same way...isn't that so 2Kwacks Dave  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

BTW Kev, I predict that you will love your Latest acquisition,  I wouldn't be so bold as to predict how long it will last though....you do seem to have a changeable mind

That northern air must have got to you as you didn't buy a black one as that's the fastest colour, but welcome to the forum and all the help we have to give.

Alan

Kevin, an official  :185: now that you have the GTR but  :ohplease: dont go and sell it in six months, it's a brilliant machine. Where's your favourite biking roads then? Lots and I mean lots of us on here frequent the North Yorkshire area, Leyburn, (Manor Cafe), Tanhill Inn, Reeth, Whitby, etc,all that general area is fair game to us Northerners.

Im sure the guy at the bike shop said blue was the fastest. Guess they say owt to get a sale! I am liking it a lot thou, shes thrilling. I dont really have any favour roads as i havent been that far but i did have a brilliant trip upto Scotland last summer, and went on some really scenic roads. It was that good i cant even remember the name! Itll comes back to me.

Need to find me a manual so i can learn how to take things apart! Ive got some HIDs odf the DL to go on, plus need to wire in a relay or 2 for some acessories.

Kev, the owners manual is a good place to start for basic requirements.

This link will take you to a PDF file which should provide you with all that you need

Welcome Kev, i'm sure you'll really enjoy both the bike and the forum.

Unfortunately BigAlan is right, black is the fastest colour, but i'm sure your blue one will go just fine,

Clive

No, he's being serious. All other colours are imitations.

Unless its 100milesaway on his bike. His bike flies.

Welcome Kevin.
Well, you don't have to go all the way down to Yorkshire since there are some pretty good routes right on our doorstep in Northumberland and Cumbria too.
Since you are more or less just down the road from me, maybe I can show you some of my favourites one day that don't require to go out for a whole day.
OK Newcastle to Hartside and then on to the Bridge and back via Stanhope and Corbridge has to be one of my favourites ride-outs if I have all day, which by the way you can do on the GTR on one tank of fuel.
But for a nice blast for just a couple of hours there is always Alston (Hartside), Alnwick and of course Rothbury just to mention a few and many ways to get there and back.
From the photos he posted here Fish n' Chips in Seahouses beats the food the wolf raves about hands down any time.
That's another neat run BTW via Cramlington, Morpeth and Warkworth to Seahouses and then via Alnwick on to Rothbury.

Kev, welcome!. I've also just hit this forum in the last week, having bought my 2012 Candy Arabian Red GTR a month ago (after riding one through the European Alps last year, I just needed to have one!). So I've been looking for a workshop manual and found one. Look at my post of earlier this evening and some responses to it. Some kind fellow forum user will be able to send the PDF to you if he feels kind enough!
