Title: help identifying this model
Post by: KeVstrom on March 06, 2013, 09:08:12 PM
http://www.frasersmotorcycles.co.uk/used-bikes/_product/10308/gtr1400-caf/

Could i get your thoughts on the above please. What colour is it? It looks dark green which i believe is 2011 but it has 2012 black wheels and is registered 2012.

Mileage is a little high maybe and 2 owners which suggests to me poss an ex demo???

Hi

To me it looks like Magnesium Grey, which was a 2010/11 model which came with black wheels. This colour was only available for 12-18 months only.
Not sure how or why it would have been registered in 2012

Looks Magnesium Grey to me.
If you look on the Kawasaki UK site at the 1400GTR, they also show all previous model years, with a link called 'previous models'

http://www.kawasaki.co.uk/1400GTR

If it were a demonstrator, it would be registered the year it was imported. I guess it was probably unsold stock due to the shitty colour

Also listed as a CAF model, so 2010 year.

The magnesium colour is decent, have you seen one in the flesh?
Price wise it's a good deal and the fact that it has had two owners is neither here nor there.

The green or black ones were sold as the 1400 GTR Grand Tourer and came with top case, tank pads, GPS bracket, inner bags and protective film for the panniers for the same price as the red and blue standard bikes. If you didn't get those accessories for free they actually cheated you.

The Magnesium Grey look far better in real life than it does in photos. Before I bought me I was put off the colour from looked at the Kawasaki promotional literature and web site but when I went to the dealers I changed my mind - Yes I had been to specsavers before hand. It does have a tendency to chnage from being a very light colour to being very dark one depending the lighting.

Don't let the mongrols on here put off by their adverse comments, they only jealous because they don't have the bike with the best looking colour scheme  . Black is so common these days
