Title: Handle Bar Bolt Torque Setting?
Post by: Debs on March 03, 2013, 02:05:56 AM
Is there a torque setting for the handle bar bolts when adding risers or sat nav mount?

Standard setting is 25n-m or 18lb-ft Debs. Fitting risers etc would be same unless instructions say different.

Thank alibx21..

I just found the settings on the service manual..   :mfr_lol:

Whats the difference between Handlebar Bolts & Handlebar Holder Bolts?

Handlebar Bolts - 34nm / 25ft·lb

Handlebar Holder Bolts - 25nm / 18ft·lb

Debs, the handlebar bolts are the ones that secure the actual  bars to the  the standard 'riser' they are on the inside of the actual bar and are,  34nm the bolts go into the bar itself.

The handlebar holder bolts are the ones that secure the standard 'riser' down to the top of the fork clamp and are 25nm

Hope that  clarifies

As OC states ...

The handlebar holder bolts are the three bolts at the bottom of the bar riser casting, attaching the bars onto the top yokes.

The handlebar bolts are one bolt each side holding the handlebar tube into the top of the casting.

If your fitting risers it's the handlebar holder bolts your interested in... 25n-m or 18lb-ft

Hope you got that....
