The plan was that I was going to have a tootle out on the bike as part of my confidence re-building. Pam was last on the bike in Nov 2011 so but is keen to get out on it again this year so she kept her options open but when a sunny day dawned she decided that biking :biker3: would be better than shopping. Good choice!
I planned a 45 mile trip from home to Whitchurch where i used to live, for some lunch at the truck stop. Pam instantly felt at home on the pillion seat and I felt much happier with my riding than i did last weekend.
After lunch I suggested a longer scenic route home so we headed over to Macclesfield and to the Cat and Fiddle pub for a mug of tea.
Then down of the moors through Leek and back home. 145 miles in total. Lots of "progress" when safe, lots of safe over takes and miles of simply enjoying that I own a GTR!
It really was a great day for us both and my confidence is definitely on its way back in time for the NEG cycle race escorting that kicks off for me next weekend.
Next step is to get my Rospa Test re-taken.
Waiting to be fed at Lynnes Raven Cafe
