Well Rog, is the new child ensconced in the rev shed yet?. Are we likely to see it up at the Bridge on Sunday?, or will it be in a million bits on the floor whilst you investigate !!things!!. Anyway you have enough vehicles to choose from so it would be nice to see you on Sunday and have a chin wag, and talk :shit: for a while. Things that you have missed this last few weeks are Peter has bought a new Versys, which he is picking up today, it's the same as mine, even same colour, and Chris has upgraded his Bmw 800 to the new 850 GT model, so lots to talk about. hope to see ya soon.
Hi Geoff,
Yes it arrived this morning    and all I need to do now is to learn how to start the bloody thing :mfr_lol: which is not just as straight forward as some might think, I'm sure that you already know that.
So, the old boys have been dipping into their pension funds eh, I think I will be there on Sunday and the weather forecast isn't looking too bad, I won't be on the Beezer which is undergoing further clutch 'adjustments' cos its dragging, and the Velo is still on SORN (so I have got that to get sorted) although it is now insured.
Here's a few pictures of the Venom to keep you dribbling, and all things being equal I will see you on Sunday 10.30 ish

Yes very nice that Rog, I know that you didn't mind me kick starting the "Beeza" when me and Lyn called at your mansion a few weeks ago, BUT I will not be volunteering to kick start the big Velo. I used to own one, and I found it tough to start one then, and that was 40 years ago . I would suggest that you point the bike towards the road, and then have some of that GP style air fencing fitted to the wall opposite your drive otherwise it could get rather messy if it kicks back when your on full lunge :mfr_lol:. Also one of those sportsman style knee supports may come in handy  otherwise you could end up in a :wheelchair: before your time :whistling:. Joking aside enjoy the bike, and I hope to see you on Sunday, and maybe we can have a spin out ride motorbikes, drink tea and scoff lots of cake.
My Brother has one just like that
I was chuffed when I'd not been near it for 2 years, and started it first kick

Bloody Hell Bryn ask him to share the secret of how to do that :mfr_lol:
Aren't you also the Beezer Geezer ?
Maybe the Kwacker Slacker??

Good looking Venom(?). There is definitely a "technique" to starting them. The exhaust valve lifter is a must and a good long swing otherwise the beast will bite you with the kickstart right in the calf muscle.
Dont ask...

Yes it is a Venom
Using the de-compressor is, as you say, a 'must do' in order to get some air into the cylinder, and to reduce the chance of calf injury :mfr_lol:
I've since found out that the battery is just about buggered and a new one is on its way courtesy of the seller, who is a top bloke, so that should improve matters by driving/providing more power to the magneto.
There is another alternative.......but its pricey..........and probably not really the British way of doing things, its tempting though :mfr_lol:

Yes, BUT an electric leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just not right Rog :nono:  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Valve lifter essential.... pull it on, down with the kickstarter to the bottom, off with the lifter, up with the kickstart, and give it a good one.... it will either break your leg or start...simples
Mick's had his since about 1970... it's a 1962 Venom ( I think).... I guess its a keeper

Better than a wooden one mate :mfr_lol:
Ah yes, there is that about it
A new battery won't affect the magneto spark as it generates its own electricity irrespective of the battery. In fact its not even wired into the loom.
Get it on compression, ease it over the "top" with the valve lifter, then give one good determined swing on the kick starter. If it doesn't fire go through the whole routine again. Don't just keep kicking away like on a stroker or it will bite you
Thanks for that burchy, Ive had it running now, there's a definite knack to it
