I'm buggered if I can remember if kawasaki produced a 49cc 16 year old moped with pedals, don't remember ever seeing one  I remember the yamaha FS1E, suzuki AP50, honda SS50, puch grand prix "john player" which a  16 year old didn't mind being seen on, except the honda SS50 which was the un  est  so can any of you kawasaki lovers tell me if kawasaki made a 49cc moped that a  16 year old wouldn't mind being seen on

 my mistake, I meant in the seventies when the FS1E,AP5O,PUCH,SS50 was on the scene
I had an ar50 in 1981
Well this is 1981, so its not far off your 1970's.
:-) I want, I want, I want an AR50 for Motogymkhana Scooter Cup! :-)

.
- they're selling this JCM Caro here locally.
- cute , but relatively expensive for something slightly bigger than a minibike
.
They made some 50cc bikes back in the 1950s and 1960s but to my knowledge these were Japan only.
First into Europe were the AR50 and AE50 in 1981.
By the time they came out I had already moved on to bigger bikes.
Now if you want a fine handling 50cc bike for your MotoGymkhana then try a Fantic Caballero,.... if you can find and afford one.
The 70's models go for £5,000 if in good condition.
KHI made a 50cc 2stroke single M10/M11 between 1966 - 1969
They made variations of the MT1, MT1a, MT1b, MT1c, all of which were traily bikes with 75cc 2t engines
Then manufacturing changed to KV75 or A5, A6, A7 which were again 75cc small trail type bikes with small wheels and baloon tyres
Then they made the KD80, KD80 A2 which was a larger 16" wheeled Trail bike
Prior to this in 1965 they made a J1/J1D/J1L which was an 85cc rotary disc valve bike on 17" wheels
The J1TR/J1TRL was similar but with high street scrambler type pipes and manufactured 1966-1969
They also manufactured GA1, GA1a, GA2, GA2a GA3and G2S all of which weren't officially imported into the UK
In 1973 they mad a "midi bike" again on 16" wheels/tyres but this was a 90cc machine, there were A & B variations of this bike up to 1975
There were lots of other mainly 90cc machines some with a street presence and some with a Trail type target audience, they were very pretty bikes, perhaps the prettiest of all was (for me) the G3TR seen here outside the Rev Shed .......nice innit

Its not mine Dave, it lived here for some time, and went to shows with my F6a and F7a, it belongs to my closest biking friend in Northern Ireland which is where it lives now, its in his collection of 30 or so bikes
It won prizes at Uttoxeter VJMC shows etc., and its a stunning little bike
