Title: French France
Post by: BigAlan on February 11, 2013, 08:12:23 PM
So there was I about to book our usual weekend in Belgium for 16 of us over three days when I am informed that they are fully booked by the Lakeside Hogs, which I guess is a motorcycle club who ride large American bikes of which I have no desire to.

So does anybody have any recommendations where 16 of us can stay about 2/3 hours away from Calais?

B&B preferably with parking for 12 bikes.

Alan,

http://www.normandybeach.co.uk/

Try this place. Only accommodates 15, but they will sort accommodation nearby for others nearby, (don't know if they could squeeze the extra one in somewhere). It is VERY biker friendly. Stayed nearby a few years back and dropped in to see them. They regularly cater for large bike groups, do BBQ's of an evening, and we went there for breakfast one morning which was excellent.

It's about 3 1/2 hrs from Calais, which I know is a bit further than you wanted to go, but the roads on Normandy are superb.

Cheers

Clive

hey Alan ,  if you're looking for a great adress in belgium i got : http://www.motorhotel.be/bikersloft/eng/hotelinfo.htm
(between french border & bruges)

everybody have to visit this one if you're on the continent !   you can only eat or rest but they have a great formule as bikemotel : you can put the bikes in the centre of the motel with all the rooms around them ;
in summer they have great bbq's ...

we also found the unique bike-museum one of the greatest we have ever seen (is part of the motel )

have a nice trip ;-)

That's where we were going, for the 13th time in 13 years, fully booked up.

I stopped at the bikersloft and thought it was an overpriced  :shit: hole.

In fact I was so disappointed with it I packed up and come home. I was only there 2 hours. No internet, Have to heat your own meals in microwave, No en suites and shower block in middle of the 'warehouse' Dirty rooms & the staff were rude.. I would never stay there again.. Could get better for less at a local guest house..

That my opinion anyway..
