Read to the end though. Some of these foams give off acetic acid (vinegar) which will rust your tools.
Otherwise, ideal for the person with too many tools and too much time on their hands.
I made wall racks for my tools mostly so that they are easy to access.
They consist of bits of wood and lots of nails.
I wouldn't have the patience to make that myself George, anyway most of my tools are piled in a heap in my tool chest, or scattered around my bike lift, they are also nice and oily so shouldn't go rusty, having said that a lot of my AF and Whit spanners have gone a bit rusty :mfr_lol:
I have a small collection of AF, Whit & BSP spanners and most of them are so rusty it's difficult to read the sizes.
One of these days I'll recycle them as have never used them.
The problem was every time I bought a new spanner set they always came with AF as well as metric.
These days you can finally buy a METRIC ONLY set. :mfr_lol:
The Whit & BSP ones came from my Dad's collection. I used the Whit and some of the AF when I rebuilt my GoldStar (early 80s so no pics, sorry) but haven't used any since.
The only AF spanner I use is a 1"1/16 one which is a perfect fit for my GTR1000 rear axle castle nut (27mm).
I do have a 27mm socket but the spanner is easier as I don't have to remove the silencer to use it.
As for the rest of my tools, yes oil is the best rust protection. :whistling:
Clean tools = unused tools!

I actually bought my AF tools in 1967 (Britool) when I was serving my mechanics apprenticeship...does anyone remember apprentices ?

Absolutely correct, and they would be the same ones that were sent to the parts counter for some elbow grease, or a long weight :mfr_lol:
