In the market for a decent pressure washer, just borrowed a Kate's yellow Karcher which was a bit of a let down but it is a few years old, so does anybody have an idea what I could get for a reasonable price which would do patio's, cars and general stuff around the garden.
Thanks
Alan
hi alan can't go past a decent karcher, with the power lance on it will shift anything, dont know if qvc still have there offer on the karcher kits as they were excellent value, and if you dont like it after 30 days you can simply send it back for a full refund no questions asked good luck
+1 on what K has said ... my Karcher ... smallish one ... is plenty good enough for the patio, driveway and even the Gtr at a distance. Take a look at B+Q if you have a local one as I believe they will price match.
:agree: K'Archer is the one for me, and add this gizmo for easier/quicker cleaning
Don't use it on your bike :nono:

I have always used a power washer on the bike for years, no problem at all provided you are sensible with it. I wouldnt be without it gets into the places where a nornal hose will not, cleans the grimne out of the wheels brilliantly. Try and get a foamer attachment if you can these are worth their weight in gold.
Ive just bought one from the tv, it came in a few days too. It came with all the toys and has a suction accessory so you dont need
to couple to a tap, its good but dont letit run dry cos then its a faf repriming it, £180.00 new. BARGAIN.
just got a Karcher from tescos for £60 , 100 bar pressure, an upright model with floor cleaner , long hose ect

Skill, how the hell does a pressure washer work without the need to be coupled to a tap, I'm baffled

I don't, I prefer the olde bucket and sponge method, and MucOff, plus a hose pipe to wash down

I'm saying nowt Steve....how's the FJR ?
Well, instead of a tap you have to fill a barrel/bucket or but, the karcher has a suction pipe and draws the water from that. Its handy if your a distance from a tap but you still need electricary.
Extension cables easier than a hose to run out and put back but you still have to keep the water but with enough water, if airs drawn
into the pipe you have to prime it. I suppose its a good idea in some ways.

You can use them on the bike, just stay away from the critical bits like clocks, steering head, wheel bearings, radiator and tank filler cap .
I used one on my ZX9-R, took the paint off the fairing....
Won't be doing that again!
When I had the ACF 50 done the guy said not to use a pressure wash on the bike unless its to be re-treated with ACF 50... Bucket & sponge for me from now on
bought one of these... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Pressure-Washer-Caravan-Motorbike/dp/B008CZZF00/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360256471&sr=8-1
not too much pressure but enough to get soapy water everywhere

Debs, when you had that nice man call round :flowers: at your gaf, to make your bike look like new again, did he use a power washer to get your bike looking mint again? If as I suspect he did, I t should tell us all that it is OK to do so. Furthermore I was under the impression that ACF 50 wouldn't wash off!!!!. I use scot oil on my winter bike, as they admit that it washes off, which suites me fine because I am lucky enough to be able to wash my bikes after every ride. A combination of power washer, scot oil, and regular cleaning kept my last winter bike (KLE 500) in complete mint condition, so much so that when I swapped it for the Versys they refused to accept that the bike had been used as my winter hack. After 4 winters it was as new. Up here in the Dales one w/ends :shit: is more than likely worth a months :shit: that you unfortunates :whistling: who live down south get on your bikes. Plain truth is after a 200 mile ride out up here, to have to face washing my bike with a bucket and sponge is just a none starter. So as far as I am concerned" Karcher " and their lovely yellow machines are my friend for life  .
ACF 50 only needs to be done once a year.. If you use a high power pressure wash on the bike then it will wash it off... Thats what he told me anyway.
