Title: Hello from Essex
Post by: Silverback on January 19, 2013, 08:24:14 AM
Hello all,

Waiting to pick up my Christmas present, a 59plate GTR from my lovely wife!!  Certainly made my Christmas.

I have to say, of all the bikes i've owned, this has to be the one i'm most excited about.

The forum looks good, and i'm looking forward to getting involved and hopefully getting to meet some of you in the coming months/years.

Will post some pic's of it when i've picked it up.

A Happy and safe 2013 to all of you

regards

Welcome aboard Silverback.
I'm in Wickford and we have Chelmsford & Colchester members and a few others on here.
I assume that Silverback comes from hair colour and size?  :mfr_lol:
Me, I turn 50 this year  but I'm still way younger than the codger-brigade on here.  :innocent:

VirginiaJim, thanks, welcome to you too

Alibx, yep, it is an amazing present, can't wait to see if she can better it in the future, i'm thinking not...

Boomer, thats good, would be good to meet up and get out there when the weather improves. Silverback comes mainly from size, and the way i drag my knuckles on the floor apparently. It's seems we haven't all evolved at the same rate :-)

Right, that's the garage finally sorted and ready for the bike to arrive tomorrow.

Having read quite a lot on the forum though, i do have some concerns and hope i haven't made a terrible mistake.

Thing is, I'm getting a black one!!!

Now the dealership told me the black one is by far and away the fastest colour, and lets be honest, it stands to reason doesn't it, I mean look at Usain Bolt, now he's as fast a f***!!!! Anyway, there are some of you on here who seem to think the Magnesium one is faster, I've even seen someone claim the green one is faster!!!!!!

Can anyone put my mind at ease please, and assure me i've done the right thing, I'm clinging to the fact that many of you claim this forum to be an asylum, and these claims are just wild delusions.....

Anyway, here's hoping the bike arrives nice and early.

Clive

GREEN is currently the fastest colour,

My 2009 GTR was Metallic midnight  Saphire Blue, which at the time was also the fastest colour available

My 2008 GTR was Metallic Diablo Black which was (again) the fastest colour of the day

Silverback you will love your GTR whatever colour it is, and I bet you just can't wait.....can you ?  :mfr_lol:

W will require pictures...of course

Silverback you have not made a terrible mistake, BLACK is definitely the fastest colour ( i am on my second black one, so i know  ). The magnesium one is for the ladys and the green one is for the OAPs :whistling: Enjoy your super fast BLACK GTR

Your all deluded its not common knowledge but Mr Kawasaki told me when I bought my blue 2009 GTR that it was the last of the really fast GTRS available and that all future models would be slightly detuned no matter what model or year..... Just thought I would let you all know!     :biker3: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Blue is definaterly the most desirable colour, fastest, most flickable, most bad ass out there, i have had 2 black ones, and defo can say blue is the best at everything. Magnesium is not a colour its all the mixed left over paint from the LADA factory.

If everything goes to plan i hope to have my 4th GTR in march, spark Black!!! and then this one will be the fastest one lol  :punk: :punk:

Oh, please, for goodness sakes.  You're all wrong.  Silver Neutron in the States is the fastest colour.

Jim, A Burgundy colour on the GTR used to be available in the States, is that still the case ?

I've always thought that it is a lovely colour for the bike, but it never been available over here

You know, I think that's correct.  I don't exactly remember the year but I'm thinking 2009...  After further research, 2012 had a Candy Arabian Red...  I like the 09 better personally...

My Avatar say's it all.  Magnesium leans over further, and is faster than any colour you can think of!

although,  Black and Blue were also pretty quick as I remember, but didn't handle as well!  :-)

Hmmm, I wonder whether that was the rider?   :innocent:
