Title: Hello from Scotland & my GTR 1400
Post by: STMGTR on January 15, 2013, 03:00:37 PM
Hi all

Have owned a Blue GTR 1400 for just over three years have to say its the best bike I have ever owned taking all things into account. This is bike number 14 for me in abut 12 years and have owned this one the longest so that should say alot.

Bike has custom saddle, risers, euro screen, satnav,  heated grips, grip puppies, throttle lock, foot peg lowering brackets,  Beowulf can, also powder-coated the wheels silver chrome.

I have done all my own spanner work on it since new and intend keeping it till wheels fall off and so far no problems at all. Fingers crossed though  Also have  a US import FZS1 Fazer 1000 so best of both worlds

:185:  STM, its always good to see new members on this forum which I know you will find friendly and hopefully informative, there's often just a little piss taking too, but all in the best possible taste.  :mfr_lol:

Some pics of your bike and especially the Silver Chrome wheels would be interesting to see

Ask any question any time and you'll always get a response

Thanks....I like the wheels, I've been thinking about powder coating my wheels in a gold finish, I reckon it should look good on the Green bike

I have a set of spare wheels freshly coated in gold powder-coat and they look great will try and post a picture of them. I picked them up cheap a couple of years ago and put new bearings in when powder-coated. Think they will look good on blue too.

Welcome aboard STM, what kept you so long though? 3 years and your only joining now...  better late than never.

At least you'll be able to bring some knowledge and experience after 3 years of ownership and your own spannering, which is always welcome.

Hope your not snowed in at the minute.

Cheers Al.

STMGTR .. welcome to the madhouse forum  2 very nice looking bikes there you have! the gtr would have look better in the best colour "magnesium" thou! always had a few bikes myself, but decided to stick to just the one from now on because I never did master riding the both at the same time  loved the 2010 gtr I had for 2 years excellent machine and loved the 2012 zx6r I had, but wanted a change, but it must be capable to doing what the gtr and the zx6r did very well, which was tour and handle  so decided to go for the 2013 zzr1441 special edition model. all I need now is some decent weather to enjoy my new steed  p.s you will have a good  on here, but if you decide to change your bike, don't be  if a certain member calls you a traitor :whistling:

Your all deluded its not common knowledge but Mr Kawasaki told me when I bought my blue 2009 GTR that it was the last of the really fast GTRS available and that all future models would be slightly detuned no matter what model or year..... Just thought I would let you all know! :innocent: :innocent: :innocent:

Hello STMGTR,

I also live in sunny Sauchie and I now own a cracking blue GTR, just got it at the end of Feb. Used to have a zx12r - a1, man that thing was  :censored:. Had lots of Hondas but the zx gave me kwackeritis and I've never got rid of the symptoms. The GTR is my first tourer (sorry, sport tourer) and got to admit I'm mighty impressed with it.
