Im not saying anything that you don't already know but had first proper ride today and what a fantastic bike. It's taking me a while to get used to the more upright position coming from k1200s and sports bikes. Any mods you recommend for a 2009 model?
Plenty of mods to consider, are you thinking performance mods, or gadget mods?
And yes it is a fantastic machine.
I personally went for a Top Selerie seat, hugger and after-market exhaust (Remus Hexacone). And as you say, the bike is awesome

Any mods ?....phew, how much time have you got HRC, there's plenty that you can do and no doubt there will be lots of response to that question

All choosen for improving an already great bike.

Yes I think so
Should have said doh! Bike already fitted with remus hexacone but was thinking more along the lines of screens huggers etc, any reccomendations on the best hugger? I like the idea of a fenda extender and rad gaurd.

Rad guard? - I recommend the Beowulf.
Some people here have complained theirs didn't fit or moves and demages the radiator fins, but I had no problems with the new design on a 2011 model.
It took only 5 minutes to fit (a little bending is required, though), it doesn't move or vibrate, does the job well and looks great too (no cable ties). And the price is reasonable as well.
I also have the beowulf rad guard and fits perfect and has never moved
Fenda-extendas are an easy fit. About £20 from Pyramid or Skidmarx.
Huggers are a bit harder to fit.
Mine is an early Skidmarx. About £90 delivered for GRP, £145 for Carbonfibre.
The hugger reduces the sidespray from the rear wheel and protects the shock and voltage regulator.
I also fitted Grip-Puppies as I have big hands (4XL gloves), hand-deflectors, and a high level (home-made) brake light.
If you ride with the panniers on then a reflector kit for those may help you to be seen too.
This shows the difference between without and with a flash.

Some of you mention that you have grip - puppies fitted.
I tried fitting them to my bike but tore them to pieces !!
How on earth did you guys get them on ? I need mine to cover the original grips because I do not want to lose the heated grips.
Deon
mine just slid/rolled into position, and have been perfect for thousands of miles riding
I'm guessing your bike has standard grips, so I can't see why there should be any difficulty
In fact I've just rolled them off so that I can save them and re-use them on my next bike..they have been great
Hi OC,
Yes, standard heated grips. Perhaps the foam grips we get down here are different to the "puppies" you guys are fitting.
Deon
Cut 3 strips from a 2 litre plastic drinks bottle about 8inches by 1.5 inches, put them around the grip so they overlap. A bit of soapy water, and they slide straight up over the grip, then its just a case of pulling the plastic strips out.
Took about 2mins per grip.
Now I wished I had thought of that method. I shredded my first attempt so bought another set which were successful, with patience. Expensive but very comfy. Need to get another set for my ZZR too lol
I just used washing up liquid and they slid over the original heated grips.
Thanks guys, top tips !!
Did you guys remove the bar ends at any stage ?

No need to remove bar ends with Grip Puppies
