after a honda transalp 7 yrs & a bmw 1100 lt also 7 yrs I ride now the best sporttourer with still great fun !! ; all together I achieved the 100.000 kms-limit with a bike

try to ride always very safe , but with this bike... wow... it's difficult to keep up to the speed limits

still a few hours to go.... :  a very happy & very safe 2013 for all of you  :punk:

As other have said Welcome to the crazy place, a few of us lads here from Oxford UK have what we call a "Flanders raid" each year where we come over on a Friday and spend all weekend riding round seeing stuff, usually stay at bikers loft in Oodenburg just south of Ostend and have a great time.

thx for the great welcome here !
Indeed Alan, this is a great place to sleep, to discover, to meet bikers or events, or simply to take breakfast , diner or bbq ...!
but also special : there is also an interesting bikers museum included... nice !

when you cross the channel for few days don't forget to have some very nice biking in the frenchflanders (just crossing the french borders...) : very nice & safe riding there !  (half of the time you can find me there ;-))

Goedaag en welkom aan het forum Beegee.
Nee, Ik ben Engels maar ik kan een beetje Vlaams spreken.
Waar ben je in Vlaanderen?
Mijn Sus woont in Schaerbeek en wij bezoeken haar vaak.
Prettig Nieuwjaar,

happy new year

boomer, i'm living near Kortrijk, between Bruges & French Lille , only 15 minutes from the french border ;-)

Schaerbeek is near brussels , ca 100 kms from here..  and yes : belgium is a very small country
that's why i like to bike in la douce france

ps your flemish is good !   i can read it with the english accent...I like it !

ps2 : if you are here with the bike ; try the northern part of brussels : the 'Kempen' & the 'Ardens' in the south (between brussels & luxemburg) ;-)

Hi and Welcome Beegee, Sorry I am Late.

never actually been on a ride through Belguim on the bike, but passed through it most months on the way back to the UK on Leave from the Army. We were based in Munster in Germany.

Only saw the motorways unfurtunately.

Regards

Darren

Hi Beegee,
I grew up in Brussels (Ukkel) and learned to ride in Belgie so I know most of the country very well.
My father lives in Luxembourg so I also know les Ardennes & die Eifel.
Mijn Vlaams is niet slecht mais je parle Francais courament..
En Francais j'ai un accent carrement Bruxellois quoi! <MDR>
So, I guess I am an honorary Belgian with my fridge full of Westmalle Tripel and Rochefort 8.
