Title: Anybody
Post by: 100milesaway on December 29, 2012, 11:19:12 AM
Playing out on Sunday, last chance to say goodbye to this pathetic piss poor summer, autumn, winter of constant rain. If any of you Northern numpties fancy a last hoorah I will be meeting some of my pals at the Riverside tea rooms at Slaidburn, and then a ride up through the Trough- of -Bowland or similar. Should be at Slaidburn 10-10-30 ish, and yes I know it's going to be raining, but hey it's just rain.  :boat::banana:

:mfr_lol: Nah, It's just that I love my biking, and I accept that in winter time the weather is  :shit: and I just deal with it. The main thing is I still enjoy being out .

Me too - I just choose to ride the winter bike to protect my asset. Popped into local dealer today and Saw the 2013 ZZR - missing the green stripes of 2kwacks and IMHO looks plain without em.

Also saw the new trophy.  Sorry Mr T - wont be tempting me back with that!

Feedback on me Rukka gloves - they're worth every one of the many pennies I spent.

QuoteI bet it's not pissing down in France nor cold as shit.

Well I am in France for a few days and it gives me great pleasure to report a CLEAR BLUE SKY which is obviously associated with ample sunshine.  Also, cos I'm up skiing, it is rather chilly (a rather mild -1°C at resort level and -10 or so at 3 and a half thousand meters) but sun cream was applied so I don't come back looking like a tomato (again).

There is deffo something wrong with UK weather.  Glad I moved away. I have never 'tucked the bike away for the winter' because there is always at least one weekend a month where you can ride out somewhere interesting without getting rained or snowed upon.

Last year in early Jan, we did Lake Garda on the bike, Lecco and Como in Feb.... Brilliant!

Anyway, moff to sleep cos the alarm is on for 7am.. It promises to be another excellent day tomorrow.

See ya !

Sorry Geoff, could not get over there as I was busy first thing, but I did manage a quick ride to Squires for a brew and to J&S in Doncaster, Roads were wet with the odd dry sections.

Cant believe J&S who are a Kawasaki dealers do not have a GTR in the showroom, I bought the last one they had 6 months ago. They have everything else Kawasaki do.

They have quite a few Guzzi's in though, They have a retro looking V7 racer with a chrome tank which was brand new and looks quite nice actually. Probably a bag o shite to ride though. LOL

Anyway the Bike got filthy so it gave me chance to wash it and try out the new Atom bike dryer. Great piece of kit, blasted the water off the bike in minutes. Great for getting water out of all the nooks and cranies.

See ya next time hopefully

She's a working dog (retired now) and lives outside 24/7, 365 days a year Steve. she's never lived inside

Her kennel is dry, insulated and warm, plus she has a proper run, she's exercised twice a day as well, and looks much much younger than her 10+ years, we love her to bits

Just checking OC, I hate to think of dogs outside in this weather even horses, I always think they'll freeze. I'm just soft where animals are concerned. They should be tucked up in front of a log fire watching Emmerdale with their owners. When we got our Mac, he was a working Springer who had never ventured over a threshhold into a house. Twas funny watching his reactions to things like the TV. Now if he goes out for a wee and its raining he comes in shivering.... :mfr_lol:

Had a good rideout today for 3 hours, ended up in Bakewell ( derbyshire ), visited our favourite bakery came away with a lovely tart, and Angie did not mind at all ( lol ). The bike is a mess it will take me ages to clean it, but was worth every mile.

Me and my partner Lyn will always remember Bakewell, soon after we had met we went for a ride out and stopped in Bakewell for some lunch and a stroll down the river, all was serene and lovely UNTIL  splosh a seagull unloaded big time  :shit: and scored a direct hit dead centre of Lyn's head, oh dear, what a mess. So it's a place we will never forget.  :undecided:   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!                                                                             Is that lovely little bike museum still there?
