just received the head light protector from power bronse seems excellent quality, but noticed where the 2 lenses join when fitted by the 2 front spot lights, theres a cap! so the 2 front spot lights are not protected! why did they not make the lenses a full lense to cover all the complete headlight instead of 2 seperate covers! ok theres only the 2 round headlights unprotected but surely it would make more sense to cover the complete head lamp! may be this is to prevent condensation from building up in side the protector! whats your views. also is there a best way to fit theses or is it just a case off cleaning the headlamp ans sticking the pads on!
I did have one of these headlight protectors very briefly which when it arrived I have to admit I didnt like it. The simplest way to fit it however is as you have suggested, thoroughly clean the glass lens, position the pads on the headlight and gently push the lens protector into place until you hear the two sides of the fasteners click together. Job done.
well phoned the guy up who sold me the power bronse headlight covers for both the zzr1400 and gtr1400, and told him theres not much use supplying a headlight cover that dose not cover the whole of the head light. the zzr1400 headlight cover did not cover the top of the lenses where the lenses pretudes out at the top on both sides, and on the gtr1400 the lense comes in 2 seperate parts so the 2 spot lights in the middle at the bottom of the headlight is left unprotected! he agreed theres not much point in having a headlight pretector which dose not cover the complete headlight. so he as agreed to swap them for skidmarx head light covers which are a full unit, "thus, both covers covering all the headlight on both bikes! thought I would mention this in case anyone is thinking of buying headlight covers!
received and fitted the 2 head lamp protectors, got them change to the skidmarx ones, from the powerbronse I original had received. fiited the gtr1400 with no problem at all, but the zzr1400 head light protectors are proving to be a sod of a job! this is because of the different shapes in the class. needed to ask skidmarx to send some more sticky tabs to have another go at fitting the head lamp protectors to the zzr1400! there on now, but if I knew the hassel that was involved I would have not botherd ;)
That's why I sold my head light cover for the GTR, far too faffy.
loanwolf not sure what you mean by naffy! asume you mean they looked crap. well ok, dose look better with out, but would it still look better if a stone was to smash it! thats the risk am not happy to take. heard theses headlights are dam expensive to replace. anyway there both on the gtr1400 and the zzr1400 now, and I dont think they look to bad. what makes them look worse is where you position the sticky tabs. well first time I tried to fit the head light cover I sodded it up. so I asked skidmarx to send me double the amount of sticky tabs that came with the covers, and with a bit of trial and error, I managed to place the sticky tabs where there less noticeable! the problem was, when you peel the backing of the tabs and apply them, they will not re-stick. and it takes a few attempts to find the best position so they mold around the head light for a perfect fit. but got there in the end :)
Not NAFFY, but FAFFY as in awkward to fit.

Here in sunny Manchester we have faffing about. Loosely translated means arsing about. So my Dad says, and he knows everything.
