Title: Sat Nav Mount
Post by: trousersnake01 on December 21, 2012, 10:34:09 PM
Just out of interest, where do members mount there sat nav ?#

I have a Garmin Zumo 660 and its mounted in the center over the steering yoke.  However I find this too low and out of my close line of sight.

I'm thinking about mounting it on one of the lever bolt locations so higher up.

What thoughts have you ?

Mr Snake, I have mine mounted where you currently have yours, no issues at all. I'm 5'11", if that makes a difference.

I use the Kawasaki mount which is very good...solid, safe, and in the right position for me, but its a matter of personal choice

Ditto (maybe a tad low) but its fine - you get used to it.

Also keeps it out of the worst of the weather.

Mine is also a zumo 660 mounted in the middle - with extended 2 inch ram mount. This brings it even higher up if required - simple adjustment once installed. Im 6 "10.

i use a centre yolk mount with a 2 inch extended ram arm as i found the sat nav just too low, now its just under my clocks in my eye line sight and perfect

the angle of the pic shows the sat nav blocking the clocks, but once on the bike its perfectly positioned

Yeah at the end of the day its just a visual reference, it's not like your'e looking at it constantly. Even better if you have Autocom fitted, (which I dont), you just listen to the prompts, dont ever really need to look at it.

Debs, I love what you have there. But at $140 for two, they are taking the piss, whats that about £80.

That is where I want mine up at that level, I don't like it down on the yoke.

I could have Garmin one side and camera the other

I bought my mounts when my mind wasn't on this planet. I was in a very dark place. I wouldn't buy them now due to the cost of them.

How about this then http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/clutchbrake-ubolt-handlebar-mount-with-1-ball-p-1289-c-281.html

You could see if it could replace the bracket for the clutch res or just mount it next to it..

I already have one of them. i just liked the look of the one you have. And hey, its only money. Its made for spending.
And i have a little to burn as work asked me to say another extra week at the oilrig, and they pay me £5000 for that week.

But i was thinking about a new Rukka Armas jacket as a bonus for myself. Sent wife and daughter to London for new year celebration. Dad need to buy himself somthing to
