just seen an advert for this site , so i thought id put in my details to see how stupid their valuation was. the car version worked by car craft gives you a surprisingly high valuation and the when you take in your car a host of cosmetic problems are found to reduce your price down bu at least 20%.
im sure the bike version is similair, but how many things can they find wrong with my mint condition 8000 mile fully serviced bike?
anyway, ive completed the online form, which asked me 20 or 30 questions and i even had to upload a picture. the website contact you back in a few days. So im guessing they just send your bike details to a bunch of bike dealers and just get their trade price ,
I will post up the results when they land
does anyone want to get the ball rolling on their valuation
2010 blue gtr1400, 8000 miles , full main dealer service, extras, cruise control, heated aftermkt seat , calsci screen , new tyres , kawasaki topbox , full venture film system
As its not the fastest colour, there going to take lots off...... Kawasaki didn't make a 2010 GTR in the fastest colour.....
But my brown one will match the fastest one easily? :-).
there are 2 sites .com and .co.uk
.com did an instant valuation on just a few questions at £5744, they collect the bike
.co.uk asked a lot more and wanted photos, they get back to you
I got a price from webuyanycar for my 2003 Honda Accord 2.0 VTEC 18 months ago... Car had always had main dealer service and was like brand new.. only 36000 miles was on the clock. Also had 12 months MOT.
They offered me £3000.. Sold it on autotrader for £4400.
Viper.. Dont expect a good price from them...

im not, just a curiosity thing really, even thou, £5744 is a tad low, considering one the same as mine secured ebay bids for £7100 last week, and ebay always gets low values for vehicles as people are usually bidding before they see.
your civic, im surprised they even offered you 3k on a 4k vehicle , you will always get more private, was 3k the online valuation because if so i can promise you they would " Find" reasons to reduce your price when you take it in
I put the details in once on my wifes car, which was a 15 year old Ford Fiesta, they offered me £50 :mfr_lol:
The car had only done 22k miles and her family had had the car from new. We bought it off her dad at three years old approx. I sold it this year to a guy from work who wanted it for his daughter, I think we got approx £700 for it which was pretty good for its year.

Yes it was the online Valuation.. I laughed when I saw it..
The guy who bought it was over the moon as I had even had new rear brake pads at discs for it to pass the MOT... I got what I asked for which made me very happy :)
to be honest i dont know why you ring these people unless you need the money straight away, you will not get any were near the value of your bike / car.i wanted to sell my zr 1200 ,before i bought my gtr,so i rang them ,told them my bike was as good as new with 11000 miles on a 04 plate, offered me online £2850 not as much as i wanted but i really wanted to get the gtr,so they came out to view it ,i told him all about the bike and how good it was, then i removed the cover ,,his jaw dropped and HIS EXACT WORDS WERE DO YOU JUST POLISH THIS AND NOT RIDE IT!!! i told him it had never seen rain and it came with fsh,he spent a while going over the bike he then admitted he couldn't fault it on anything, but he could only offer me £2200,i told him no chance ,he was on the phone to his boss explaining he could not find a fault, but they still could only offer me £2200. there online price is to get there foot in the door to try and sway you with the cash.i sold it on e bay for £3200,
Vivamoto.co.uk are a company in Bradford and are owned by webuyanybike. I know because when I paid the deposit by credit card for my bike it showed up on the statement as webuyanybike.com
They may be the retail outlet for their purchased bikes I don't know.
I got my GTR from them and it was a good enough deal for me to travel from N. Ireland to trade my bike in for the GTR.
Was only offered £2000 here at a dealer for my 03 Honda Varadero, 23k, full Kappa luggage, lots of extras, against a 08 FJR13 at £8k
I emailed Vivamoto about my bike and sent them some decent photos of my bike for valuation, I described it as a "good honest bike, not mint, chips on fork legs etc, general wear and tear",and Vivamoto offered me £2400 for it against an 08 GTR, with 11k, that was for sale at £5700, no quibbles or differences when it came to it.
The sums made it a no brainer, £25 on the boat one day return, they delivered the bike from Bradford and were waiting to meet me at Cairnryan Port, we exchanged bikes and paperwork and I was on the next boat home, deal done.
They had my bike advertised for £2950 and sold it a couple of weeks later, so they made a £500 profit and I got a better deal than I would have got here.
So I must admit I would have no problems dealing with them again.
My mate here in the village sold his 10 year old Triumph Daytona which was in mint condition for very good money to WBAB.co.uk and the guy who collected it phoned his boss and said he would buy it himself it was that good.
So +1 from my mate.
Alan
I know Asif bought his GTR (may it rest in peace) from Viva Moto and it lasted him well until he returned to Bradford and it claimed the bikes life.
I part exed my old Vstrom1000 at Viva moto for my GTR - all excellent in my opinion. They put a new rear tyre on while I waited as the one on it looked a tad tired - although it was perfectly legal. No extra cost....
Would definitely use them again.
I have been to Vivamoto looking at bikes. The prep seems to be very good cleaning but nothing much more. They present nice shiny bikes which appeal to the heart rather than the head.
Also remember that the value of anything be it bike, car, house or whatever will always be thought higher by the seller than the buyer. These guys are not robbers or crooks, they are there to make a profit. If you don't like their quotes or offers then don't use them. Don't let sentiment cloud your judgement or be the basis to slag someone off.
The last bike I sold was an immaculate Bandit 1200 which I thought was worth £2,500. In the end I sold it to a local dealer for £2,000. That is what is was worth to them and I was happy to sell it rather than have it sat doing nothing except lose value. They quoted me a price based on a few photos and gave me the quoted price in full upon collection. The only sad thing was when it was advertised on their website, the service book had gained an extra 3 dealer service stamps which is totally untrue and in my opinion, an act of deception. I will never buy a bike from them and have not returned to have my GTR worked on by them either. They no longer have my trust.
I won't use a particular dealer in Exeter after a magazine did a survey on servicing quality. A CBR600F went in for "the big one", valve clearances etc. it had been dosed with umpteen faults which should all have been spotted within the 28k mile service scope.
They charged I think £300 for the service (this is about 15 years ago).
Turns out they changed the oil and filter and that was it! Nice work if you can get it! When results were published in "very popular national magazine" they apologised and rode the storm but a lot still remember this incident. People in Devon in general don't earn much compared to elsewhere so to be ripped off like this sticks in the memory.
Until a dealer proves his integrity to me then as far as I'm concerned they are classified as untrustworthy - surely this should strike a chord with the "law enforcement" contingent here!
