Title: time to move on..!
Post by: 2kwacks on November 27, 2012, 04:49:17 PM
well as most of you may know, I've been thinking of getting myself another zzr1400 for a while now, well I've done just that  went for a ride the other day and on the way home called into a kawasaki dealer :whistling: there in the corner on it's own was this special edition peal gloss black and golden blazed green (http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m474/02zx7r/zzr14002013.jpg)  kawasaki zzr1400 2013 and after a bit of  :sweatdrop: ing I  :surrender: and bought the beauty  the dealer gave me £8,200 for my much loved 60 plate gtr which I thought was a fair price considering they don't seem to be selling for that price private. really enjoyed riding the gtr but had it 2 years, done a france and italy trip and 6 long weekends trips and many day trips  and felt it was now time to move on. I know at some point I will regret selling the gtr, but having said that.. have never sold a bike yet and not regretted it afterwards :nono: "shame we can't keep them all" I've made many good friends through this forum and still intend on being part of that  and even still go on the odd bike meet and ride out if the zzr1400 is welcome  I do have some extras have removed from my gtr which include the following.. I will give anyone on here first refusal then whats not wanted will go on "evilbay"

full kawasaki "what the dealers use" exworks "paper" genuine service and maintenance manual cost new £65.00 from the states
skidmarx headlight protector cost new £29.99
bagster/baglux tank cover/harness for the magnesium grey gtr "still the best colour" cost new £104 plus post
also have a spare main ki pass fob, theses cost new £275.00 supplied and programmed to your bike. if you want a second fob it would only cost you £30.00 from a dealer to have this fob  programmed to your gtr.
do have a beowulf radiator gaurd and a kawasaki genuine low gell seat, but won't know if I'm selling theses till I see if they will fit the zzr1400 if they won't fit I will offer them on here!
all in as new condition  open to reasonable offers, if interested in any of the above accessories just private message me with what you want

Well done 2kwaks, think the ZZR is a beautiful bike, have liked it since I first saw it at the NEC show the year it was launched, I'm a bit to fat and heavy to ride one though so I had to go for the next best thing... the GTR.

Health to enjoy it.

Al.

what are you saying steve..! my zzr1400 is not welcome  but there's really no need to worry :nono: I will still wait for you  but now, I will only need to open the throttle on the zzr a millimeter or 2 at the "very very" most  to keep sight of you in my mirror :mfr_lol:

it was the green flashers that made me decide to buy it.. H0..! the all green 2012 zzr1400 is nice but I think it's to green, the other option is a vary dark blue which I don't think it brings the best out in the bike, so this special edition gloss pearl black and golden blazed green is a excellent alternative and hits the spot right smack bang in the middle    p.s I assume that boss looking zx10r you had as now sold.. or ?

I've not ridden my new zzr1400 1441 yet  because it was still in the crate at the time I said   but all kawasakis clunk in first gear. I remembered my df8 model doing the same but I soon got used to it, infact don't think I've had a bike that doesn't clunk when first gear is selected, infact even my gtr1400 clunk in first gear. did take the 2012 zzr1400 1441  for a test ride when we had one on demo at work. but I didn't recall the clunk when first gear was selected, but that may be because I was use to my df8 zzr1400 doing it. infact even my 2012 zx6r clunks when first gear selected.  anoying..  will it do any harm..  suppose it the nature of the beast

it's not a 636  they stop producing the under seat exhaust model 636 in 2006. it's the 600 model which have got or should I say had! since the arrival of my new grandson in june 2011  I now tend to mind him on my rest days through the week on the days my daughter and wife are working, so only really have enough time at weekends to enjoy just one bike. I happen to mention this to my kawasaki dealer and due to the zx6r only being 6 months old with only 1,200 miles on the clock and the preformance edition he said he would be willing to take the zx6r in as p/x as well, he also offerd me a very good price for it  so the fact I will most likley be riding the zzr most of time  the zx6r would be getting even less use and also be worth alot less next year  so after much consideration   it seemed the wise thing to do

yes  i agree most bikes clunk a bit into first gear,my other zzr 1400's had a clunk, aswell as my gtr 1400 but i used turn my tickover speed down slightly by using the throttle thumb turn adjustment, which brought the clunk down to an acceptable click,i have always thought that if my gears were clunking it would be doing a bit damage somewhere ?? unfortunatley i  couldn't turn down the tickover  speed on the 1441 as it does not have the manual adjuster, so unless i started it in first gear i found the clunk on mine really harsh a lot worse than the 1400's. you think kawasaki would be able to do something about this on such an expensive prestige bike. but like you say all the kwacks do it, it just used to bug me  a bit, i used to get loads of people staring at the bike when it was at a standstill at lights ect,  but it was a bit of a let down when i put it into first to pull away with the clunk.never mind you  are obviously used to it,i found it to be a terrific ride with much better handling than the old 1400 good luck with it and enjoy, all you need is some descent weather.

ha..! but run it into what!! geoff with the greatest of respect  I've got enough respect for you and my old mans request to run in the zzr 1400 1441  and for this reason alone, I'm afraid I will need to decline your request and my "old mans" request :whistling: to have ago  but by saying  to you and my old man  we all can still enjoy both your hilarious and outrageous requests :mfr_lol: but I may let you sit on it, the next time we meet at devils bridge  providing you don't take us of the beaten track again :whistling:

dam they were bloody quick at listing them on ebay  they only collected them from my house at 16.00 hrs yesterday afternoon  I've started a new post in General Discussion under...  well they never waisted any time  the price their asking for my gtr is sure to raise an eyebrow or two

agree with that  but you know as well as me, it's highly unlikely he his going to get that price for my gtr with out a p/x to take in  he's allowed for offering the customer a better trade in price for their bike, if you were to go in with cash and no p/x I'm sure he would knock off £500 which is would then be about the right price for a 60 plate in immaculate condition with under 8,000 miles on the clock from a main kawasaki dealer.
