Hiya Colin,
Welcome...seems to be a few from 1400gtr.org on here at the moment ...(me included, although i never posted that much, as i have only just picked up the GTR). If you fancy some continental stuff in a group, i am a member of a club 'Knights Templar MTC', we have a couple of trips away planned for this year, Central Massif in May, and Dolomites in September...not sure whether the trips are fully subscribed or not , but worth keeping an eye on if its your kind of thing?. The knights are a small member run group (only really started in late 2009/2010), and we try to organise trips abroad at cost!!. The Website is http://www.knightstemplarmtc.org/index.cfm , the forum is http://www.knightstemplarmtc.org/forum/ . I know we are also chatting about a long weekend in Normandy at some point, and a day trip top Le Touquet for Lunch (we've done this a few times before, its a good chuckle)...plus the obligatory day rides and a few social get togethers.

That being said, i am new to this site and fancy the look of the Wales meet...just need to see if the calender is clear for that weekend. I don't camp often, so could be good fun

Hello Colin and welcome aboard .... Nice to have another defector ! Take a look at the Wales Trip under the topic General Discussions then you will find Mid Year Convention and it's all there for you .. Hope you can make it as I am sure it will be a great weekend ... You can stay 1 or 2 nights or just visit for the day .. Whatever you choose it would be nice to see as many people as possible !

Colin, welcome. It would be good if you could make the Wales event. Its the first one ever, just a laugh at the end of the day and an opportunity to meet similiar minded people. If you are interested, its only £6 per person per night. Either way, welcome to this site.   ;D

Boomer, welcome. I've seen that photo in the bottom left of your signature before. On the American site I believe, I think from memory you made a comment where you make it look like a sports bike as you dwarf it. Welcome aboard.  ;D

Hi and welcome Boomer. I was averaging about 500 per week on my bike but for some reason haven't ridden the bike for a month. Was hoping to get to the 50k milestone this year but have stagnated at 35k. Maybe we could have race which might give me motivation to get back on the bike!

Thanks for the welcome all.
Have been active on here as it's been a quiet week at work.
I'm sure it won't last.  :(

As for Max, I believe he has dropped the server rental but don't know what is happening with the  domain 1400gtr.org.uk or the old forum.
For now the domain is still pointed at the CWCS nameservers so the domain is still "hosted" where it was, just not available.

No - It wasn't bad - just quiet compared to here. Dedicated peeps that ran it, but not busy enough to survive.

It was OK - nice bunch of blokes on it and I don't think they're all here. The forum structure didn't lend itself well to the 'pub' atmosphere that I think is essential for this sort of forum and we jumped ship when it was in its death throes (for reasons unrelated to the traffic volume). I hadn't heard of this forum until someone mentioned it over 'there'.

I do think someone ought to tell Norman that it's a 1400GTR not a GTR1400 though!  ;)

Nah, the other site was very good. It was (and hopefully still will be) a vast source of information. I did offer to host the site on my server for free but for whatever reason that offer wasn't taken. I believe it is being rehosted elsewhere but its taking a long time for some reason
