Title: Hi there- Another noobie
Post by: fatharry on February 27, 2011, 02:40:27 PM
Hello there all ;D

I'm another interloper from 1400gtr.co.uk (albeit a fairly new one on there).....recently got a 59 plate 2009 blue GTR with only 750 odd miles on it.....which replaced my Tiger1050 (which was written off in the side of car), still recovering from a serious accident last Aug, so only just riding again, and riding very delicately as I still have some way to go to full fitness, so not 'making progress' and exploring the GTR's limits quite yet. First impressions are stunning though ::)

I called Paul, and based in Berkshire, and ...any excuse to ride the bike, sums me up quite well. Involved with Knights Templar touring club same as Routemaster who has also just joined this site.....(yes we know each other....we were out in the hail yesterday :o coming back from Loomies) ..... Off to France in may (provided I'm fit enough) for 10 days for my first tour on the big Kwaka

Look forward to chatting on the forum with you guys

Hi FH,

Welcome and fancy seeing you on here  ;)

It was a good ride yesterday despite the rain and the hail  :-\

We're off to the central massif.....staying in the same place overnight, and having day rides out.... Including Millau under & over, Puy Mary and much much more. I organised a Trip to the Harz mountains in Germany last year, and I am already concocting plans for 2012 ;D .... Also booked for a long weekend in the Dales in June, and a day trip to Le Touquet too.....not to mention all the ad-hoc and organised day rides......stacking up to be a busy year

I am looking forward to this trip  :)  and the other ones we have planned and those that haven't yet been planned for this year:)

The Harz mountains was a good trip and it will be a good opportunity to test/stretch the legs of the GTR on a tour to the Central Massif

Fatharry, aka, Paul, welcome also. Anymore of you coming over from the other site?

Hope you are making swift recovery from your RTC, as bad as it is to lose a bike, thankfully they can always be replaced in time. We unfortunately take a little longer to put together and get right.

Sounds like you have some terrific trips planned throughout this year, (says the jealous chap who's only allowed to venture to Scotland this year).  ;D The wife says I might be able to get a longer pass next year if I behave myself this year, bloody cheek!!

As mentioned on Routemasters welcome thread, you are extremely welcome to come along to North Wales for our first ever get together if you are available. The more the merrier.

Enjoy the site.  ;D

Millau Bridge is not a hundred miles from our campsite at Beynac ... we were there 2 years ago and the town is lovely with the old castle on the top of the hill etc ,, some of the guys went off to do the Millau but we were blessed with filthy hot weather and I know it was a bike trip etc but I just fancied a day off ... so 3 of us hired a Kayak 20k up stream, bought some bread beer cheese grapes and wine, and just floated back down to the camp site, not paddled but floated and it took us about 5/6 hours .. just so peaceful and what a beautiful place to unwind .. all the food and alcohol just vanished !!!
