Yes it's that time again. Best quote so far is MCE at £241.50 compared to Bennett's renewal figure of £368, which on the phone, they would reduce to £280 just for asking. However I came across Bike Devil Insurance which I think is an introducer company to MCE insurance, and they are offering £238 with zero compulsory excess. Interesting I thought, so went for a look. BEWARE...READ THE SMALL PRINT. There is an excess of £1500 which is covered by a separate policy which will refund ONLY if a claim is submitted for an amount above the £1500. So if you have a small off and wish to claim for say £1,000 of damage, you will not be paid out. It is a very crafty play on words which in my mind is very misleading (I am a Compliance Manager in Financial Services so I know a little bit about these things). READ THE SMALL PRINT-----READ THE SMALL PRINT---You have been warned. like any insurance, there will never be an issue until a claim is submitted, then the row starts. READ THE SMALL PRINT..I don't apologise for repeatedly saying, READ THE SMALL PRINT, part of my job is dealing with complaints from insured parties who either do not understand the contract they are buying, or can't be bothered to READ THE SMALL PRINT.
Like it CB ... thanks for letting us all know ... look out everyone !
Insurance companies, they don't give you anything for nothing. If it sounds too good to be true......as the saying goes.
