That doesn't look good, good thing you've caught it in time ( hopefully).
Do you keep your bike covered or in a garage ?
Regards
Max.

That is quite frightening considering its a new bike. Mine had it on the top under the seat starting so it was cleaned and covered in copper grease.
I'm going to have up and have a look underneath.
mmmmmmm, its those 'hard to see' areas that often gather dampness/condensation which will eventually lead to rust.
I have noticed that the paint on the tank is a little thin. On the Yam it was adequate and the Tigers was like enamel. When I lift tank next ill spray some waxoyl underneath.
MG's bike is in Italy. You wouldn't think the tank would get that bad in that climate. Puzzling.
Well, I don't know whereabouts in Italy MG is, but I can confirm that when it does rain here, it really does rain a lot! And hard! Not like the drizzling damp 'orrible shit you get in the UK.
Also, Italy has a fair bit of coast, so if he's anywhere near the sea, this won't help much either, I guess...
Thats worrying...
Is it easy to lift the tank to check?

Just remove the door objects from the tank, then there are 2 allen screws of 4mm.
holder RH and LH fairing, removed the earpiece are 4 screws 6mm. and you're done.

Dress 20 km from the sea, the weather here is great even in winter, not moisture.
Motorcycles always in the garage at night, never traveled under water.
Wash the bike very often, at least 12 times in a year.

12 timess a year - that often hey!!
Well, mine is a 2010, and putting it into numbers was scary. I think mine get washed about errrr 45-50 times per year... Yes virtually every week. :-). And twice on Sunday! Only joking....(about the sunday).
