Hi All!
I'm from Sweden and have been a rider since 1983. Earlier bikes are Honda VF750C, Honda NX250, BMW K100RS, Honda CBR1000F, Honda XR400, Kawasaki 1600 Mean Streak which I still own and now also a Kawasaki 1400 GTR.
I plan to change/add three things on the bike:
1. New GIVI E55 topbox. Got one today from www.piqumoto.com. Very cheap!!
2. Kawasaki Low Gel seat. Bought a Sargent seat first but returned it because it was too slippery.
3. A new exhaust system. Plan to buy a Vance & Hines CS ONE Black.
Anyone have any comment on the V&H CS ONE? And where to buy...
Best regards
Welcome to the forum meanie..
sorry but I can't advise on any of your planned mods, I've got a maxia E52 but haven't fitted it to the bike yet, still using a smaller one that came on my bike, will just use the panniers when I need more storage..
Somebody no doubt will offer opinions though....
Hope you enjoy the ride.
Hello Swedish Man ...
Welcome ... Can't help you with any of that as I just love the standard exhaust !
Hope you really enjoy the Gtr and please please join in with the forums and topics .... would love to see some local photos from your local area .. perhaps some stunning roads to ride !
:185: mean1400, this is an excellent friendly forum with plenty information and advice, which I know you will enjoy.
The Gel seat is great, maybe a bit firm at first but you'll soon get used to it.
The Larger GIVI top boxes are excellent, I have used them on my bikes for many years, I would recommend that you fit it with the correct GIVI fitting kit, which, as I have previously mentioned is a bit of a Bast*rd to fit, but worth the effort as it is very solid and secure.
I don't know about V & H pipes as I have a Two Brothers on mine
Pictures are always welcome so post some of your bikes so that we can all have a gander
Here's a photo of my Mean Streak. Currently I have a Mustang leather seat on it.
I have no photo of my 1400 GTR yet since I just bought it.
The weather looks pretty good in Sweden
welcome.. "Mr mean1400" you'll love the gtr1400 ho..! I do.. must comment on your meanstreak  I had the vn1600 classic 2008 model and did really enjoy riding it, plenty of low down grunt with such a relaxed riding position. only sold it because I was not using it as much as I intended  all my mates have supersports and tourers so only ended up riding the cruiser when I was riding on my own  so the cruiser only done 900 miles from new in the 14 months I had it. I have on many occasions when the weather has been very hot and sunny wished I never sold it  would love another cruiser, but can't warrant having three expensive bikes and only using the cruiser the few times I venture out alone. here is a pic of my 2008 vn1600 cruiser I no longer have  p.s don't forget to post some pics of your gtr1400 and info on year and mileage.

The Mean Streak is a really really good sport cruiser! Since you have a forward riding position and not leaning back you can run pretty fast with it. The low CG helps alot. And you can definitly find your Dark side with it...

Mean1400, welcome along to the forum. The photo is great by the way.
Hej Mean1400, hur går det?
Nej, jag är inte Svensk men jag kan snacka det en bit. Jag bodde i Frillesås, Halland när jag var liten.
Welcome to the forum.
I think the V&H CS One is only available in the USA.
Not legal for road use in the EU.
Hi Boomer.
Thanks for info about the CS ONE. I must check that. What about other exhaust systems? Is there anyone that is "better" than others for the GTR?
Any comment on
- Two Brothers
- Scorpions
- others?
Quality, sound, look, price...?
Regards from Thailand, Koh Lanta.
Two Brothers on mine, quality seems ok and I like the sound, even though it has a sound moderator fitted
Sorry the picture doesn't show it too well
Remus & Beowulf are good too, but others are better equipped to tell you about them, there's quite a few ther makes to choose from
(http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n326/oldeconey/Cornwall2012001.jpg)
You have what I plan to do. Low gel seat, exhaust system and Givi E55.
Does the 2B change the ride in any way? Do you need a Power commander?
Regards
I have a 2 Bros on mine as well. You will need the PowerTip as they are very loud without it.
PowerCommander is not needed but if you are planning on doing lots of long trips then you may prefer to leave the factory BazookaLauncher on.
On long runs the 2 Bros can get a bit wearing as it drones quite loudly.
Others on here favour the Remus Hexacone and also the Beowulf cans.
If you are in Thailand then I imagine that there are very few rules about what exhaust you can fit.
This is my 1400 with the Two Brothers Titanium fitted.

That's some buttock perch you have George, is it as comfy as it looks?
What make is that seat?
George is absolutely right on both counts, the Two Brothers pipe is MUCHO loud without the tip, and you won't need any other mods to accomodate it, the bike takes care of any 'adjustment'
Well I don't want to be too load. I really like the V&H CS ONE and found both 2Bros and CS ONE on www.morepoweracing.com. They ship to Sweden for $124.
What about weight? How much does the standard exhaust weight, and what about 2Bros and others?
Is there a good shop in UK for these exhaust?
Regards
- two brothers is too loud. Drones badly on long runs.
- love the Remus Revolution on my GTR.
.
just about all (I imagine) aftermarket pipes are substantially lighter than the original spud launcher
Pistole I don't find the "B pipe that bad on long runs, and I have put it to the test on a few occasions
Just my ten penneth
I don't agree with the 2Bros loudness comments, maybe I have a different can (though it looks identical to Boomer's). Or am deaf.
I have had mine for 15,000 miles now, and have never felt the need to fit the powertip. It is only slightly louder than the spud launcher at low revs, still acceptable at 6-7k rpm in my eyes, but wails beatifully like an F1 car when above 7k and hard on it. The popping and burbling at medium revs on a closed throttle is worth the price alone.
Perfect can in my eyes, and causes no problems noise wise to me - even riding through our sleepy village at 6.30am each day.
Martin.
I found my 2Bros pipe to bit a bit too rippy and had to fit the P1X powertip which is the quieter one, supposed to reduce the noise by about 7db over the P1 which reduces it by about 3db.
With the P1X it's lovely and quiet on tick-over and it just takes that loud drone out of it on a rev... haven't had it out for a run yet to see if it's stopped the farting and popping on the overrun though...
sorry about the late reply.. but have you found a exhaust your happy with? if not, I can defo recommend the remus hexacone titanium or carbon. they look and sound the dogs bollocks, another thing I like about the remus is they don't have the conventional exhaust strap  instead they have a small bracket thats secured to the rear of the can by small 2 bolts. both designs are hexacone shaped with carbon inlet and outlet caps, check the remus hexacone out on this link.. https://www.remusonline.com.au/bike/hexacone
here is a pic of my hexacone carbon and andys "rossendales rider" hexacone titanium on our bikes. it's just a matter of which design you think would suit your bikes colour best  (http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m474/02zx7r/DSCF5694.jpg)
i think his seat is a russel all day long, they are considered to be the best seat money can buy, looking forward to his reply

Yes, definitly nice without the strap. I must check were to get a Remus shipped to Sweden. And the price. Morepoweracing.com has very good prices on V&H and Two Brothers.

As Viper already stated it is a Russell Day-Long.
It is an all day saddle, hence the name. It's so comfy that you don't notice it.
Unfortunately, I had to sell mine during the credit crunch, but I have a spare stock saddle now and WILL be getting another one.
I also have one on my GTR1000 and I have done 1050miles/18hrs in the saddle on that one (apart from petrol/cigarette stops) and the only pain I had was a tendon burn in my right shoulder from holding the throttle in one position all day.
It is custom built just for you and mine cost me about £450 with shipping to/from California.
You have to send them your saddle with some pictures and some measurements and they modify it to suit your height/weight/build/shape.
I'm a fatbast so you may be able to do without the heavy-duty suspension I had in mine which would reduce the cost to about £350.
Thanks for the reply George, must admit I'm no Twiggy myself, but funds wouldn't allow for that sort of expense, lloks a comfy seat though..
Thanks 2kvacks!
Now I have even more to choose from. Never heard of Beowulf before but I think they look really good!
No hurry, a long winter ahead...

That's how my Beowulf 450mm coloured Titanium can with carbon tip looks like.
Well, it has two straps, but I don't mind them really.
But I guess they may look cheap with the black cans, though.

The sound is awesome too.
A deep throaty growl but not too loud so I don't have to wear ear plugs.
So I definitely won't take the baffle out. :nono: :hammer:
Just found this one: BOS Black Magic.
http://www.bos-exhausts.de/index.php?id=237&L=2%20%20%2F%2Findex.ph...option%253...%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_rokdownloads&bild=0950512-f4_31.jpg
Anyone tried one? I think it's super! And very clean with no straps around.
Mecki:
I see that you have crash protection. Can you recommend that model?
Yes, they are R&G Adventure bars and very sturdy.
http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Kawasaki/GTR1400_Concours/2011.aspx
I hope I'll never find out how well they actually protect the bike when dropped, though. :mfr_lol:
Nice to hear, then I buy a pair.
Well I agree that we hopefully never will use them...
YES! Just bought a BOS Black Magic from zietech.de for 419€.
