considering the gsx1000r is a litre supersport and the gtr1400 is a heavyweight tourer, there was not that much in it  bet the guy on the gsx1000r as now bought a new model zzr1400 :mfr_lol:

a lot can depend on the talent of the rider to get the launch right
Agree with that... Commitment of the GTR Rider plays a lot. Read somewhere, the book says about a 0.3 second acceleration gap between the two.
Looks about right.

A day in the saddle of the GSX 1000R might focus a riders mind somewhat
The GTR isn't designed to be a Santa Pod weapon of choice...................is it ?

No it's not  that was just a clip that I thought may be of interest. i.e.. the gtr may be a heavy distance tourer, but it can also boody well move when you want it to..
It's not a weapon of choice for Motogymkhana either, but it doesn't stop me!
SMOKIN !!! :2guns:

took mine down the dragstrip a couple off weeks ago , and managed a 11.3 125mph stander quarter . its on par with a zzr1100 which i had . my zzr1200 did a 10.80 130mph . gsxr1000s are doing 10.50 140mph . the weight is what slows it down . the zzr1200 was a lot quicker but no where near as smooth. i am hoping that when i have had the power comander fitted it wil give it some more low down go . it only shows up when you ride with other big bikes ridden on your own no problem . depends what you have had or are used to ....... :biker3:
