Hi guys and gals' I m the bloke who proved (at effing huge expense) I couldn't ride during the Cotwolds meet this year. Doh.
On the plus side.. (if there are any) I didn't hurt myself – well I hear all of you who were there say - that woulda been feakin impossible as you were only going at 'ol' man walking pace'!!BUT I can testify to the bike being bloody heavy – especially when it lying ontop of you!!
On the 'negative' size HUGE expense (DO NOT ask!!!) and severely damaged pride!!
A lot seems to have happened on here seen I have been 'away', So a short update, bike was finally repaired last Saturday at dealer, with parts provided by Kawasaki UK HQ at a discount. (They are our neighbours in the business park where I work, so we have a sorta relationship and because of that they did me a deal. Didn't make a huge difference, but better than nout!!
Oh dealer cocked up the order so I got a left side pannier lid NOT a right side. Would you believe (yes I guess you would.....) all parts needed include a L/H or R/H in the description... APART from said lid, and due to a one character typo, the left lid arrived. I left the complete pannier with them and they will fix the new lid (special Kawasaki rivets (yeah right) and I can collect next week.
I have been silent here (not because I fell outa love with the bike– although it is certainly a bugger to get in and out of the garage) but I have been mega busy at work and am usually in Germany three days a week!!
On the +++++++side, I am 'under threat' of redundancy and all paper work signed and agreed and if all goes to plan will leave next March after 24+ years!!
Seems like plans are 'well under way' for next year's meet, so I will get my 'arse into gear' to make sure I sort out dates etc.
Oh yeah, welcome to new members - whilst I have been having my 'self enforced' sabbatical!!
Its good to see you back on here again, and great to hear that you've got your GTR repaired.
Its sad to hear that redundancy may be on your horizon, but every cloud has a silver lining as they say and you never know it may prove to be something that brings new opportunities for the future
Any how keep posting, and you will see that its pretty much the same gang on here
I remenber that man, I was I the group of four who rode up when you were sticky taping the mirror back on, nice to hear your fine as well as the bike, and as for the enforced redundancy then I am with olde coney, it happened to me some 21 years ago and turns out to be the best thing which could have happened.
See you soon.
Alan
