Title: Remus
Post by: Bryn on October 20, 2012, 08:48:07 AM
I notice that the Remus Okami is about £50 cheaper than the hexacone... has anyone bought one?  comparisons would be good

I'm not to sure about the difference, I think the okami is stainless and has a plastic end and a metal inlet but is also hexacone shaped. but the carbon inlets and outlets can be bought seperate to fit the stainless exhaust. as you can see both mine and andy's have the carbon end and inlet caps, only difference being is mine as the carbon finish and andy's is the titanium finish, suppose its personal choice and what you think would suit the colour of your bike best, the extra £50.00 is for the carbon caps and carbon finish and in my opinion both look and sound the dogs bollocks  here is a few pics of my "the bestest colour" magnesium.. and rossendale rider "andy" greenie thingy :whistling: pictured on our 2 night 3 day trip to scotland  seeing the 2 exhausts together will make it easier to decide which you prefer. hope this helps..

thanks for that      I like the finish on the standard one, goes well on the magnesium, so the carbon would look great on mine

Saying that the Titanium is cool as well  ..... decisions decisions .....

The two will do me fine, the problem is i cant stop buying bling for the monster, i just love carbon fibre. i suppose while the 'loss adjuster' keeps buying shoes and handbags i will be OK.  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :punk:

My biggest e-bay bargain was last month when I won a Remus Hexacone Titanium - absolutely minter for £243 ! I agree with all previous comments - this can is awesome.
You may remember the saga of the Leo Vince can which sold a few months back. That was on the bike I bought but opted not to buy with that can as it looked physically small for the overall look - also not as deep toned as the Remus.
Only thing is I occasionally get an F1 error - very rare but if anyone can shed light then I'm all ears!

Bring on the Can Franc Tunnel next year!

That's apparently quite common even with the standard torpedo. Although mine hasn't done it for a while now!!

I have had a Hexacone fitted for three years now, never had any FI error messages, and it sounds fantastic, I would not hesitate getting one for any future bikes.

- no "FI" error with my remus either.

I don't think that the FI error has anything to do with which can is fitted on the bike as many bikes with the original bazooka on has also thrown FI errors from time to time.

Anyway, as has been said many times before, ignore the FI error and ride it like you stole it !!!    :mfr_lol:

- bryn : how do you like the PR3s on your bike ?

- dry grip and wet grip ?

- cheers

Title: Re: Remus
Post by: Bryn on October 27, 2012, 01:14:05 PM
PR3's fine... no issues with grip as yet.... The main thing I've noticed with the GTR is it tends to understeer a bit, could be down to the long wheelbase.... ( someone will come along in a moment and say 'they all do that sir')

Getting used to it still.... From what I've read the PR3's are the dogs ... nothing to dispute that yet  :biker3:

The PR3s are great in both wet and dry   I love them,

And Bryn...................................bet you thought I was going to say "thety all do that sir"  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Actually mine doesn't seem to understeer, what pressures are you running at Bryn ?

If your suspension is set "avaerage" then try a couple more pounds F & R

Looking good Bryn :punk:

Remus supply 2 different labels for the Okami, if you get no joy from them ask Calsport, I bought it from them and they're generally very helpful.

PR3s are great :agree:

Suspension needs tweaking IMO, there was a good guide on here but I can't find it. Harder at front, less rebound, rear around 12 turns was ok for me.

Not had a reply from the uk distributors yet....

Rang Calsport on Thursday afternoon.. said he'd get back to me with a price when he looked up the part number.... still waiting  :sleep1:
