Post by: O.C. on October 13, 2012, 08:08:23 AM
I just renewed the insurance for the olde girl fully comp 10K miles p.a ~ £173. 43  with MCE

They are offering a renewal deal that includes RAC BReakdown, Legal assistance, Personal Injury, Helmet & Leather cover plus courtesy bike

Oh, and an extra 3 free months insurance ! so its a 15 month deal...Result I'd say

Steve, as I said it is a 'renewal' deal, so may not apply to first time customers...its worth a shout though

After reading this post Olde, I tried em for a quote and the robbing  :censored: wanted £520 quid!
Just been on compare the market and got a quote from swinton for an incredible £106.00 fully comp.  ....... decided to protect the no claims and it worked out to £118.00!! ...... decided to add breakdown cover too for £4 a month (3 months free) just in case it needed hauling home from anywhere. Not bad at all I thought!
Had to double and triple check the quote in case the PC had thrown a wobbler and I was insured for a moped instead!

in my experience with mce never accept the quote they give you ,they will always haggle, get an online quote from them then ring ,to discuss it

I've jumped around with insurers since I returned to bikes in 2008.
Some are easy to buy but then difficult to contact if you want to change things. I had problems with ebike insuring 2 gsxr
I' m now with MCE who I deal with over the phone.
I've only got 4 years ncd and pay £248 for the gtr and gsxr1000 inc pillions, legal cover, leathers, helmet, RAC etc
As you can only ride one bike at a time, the risk is only doubled for theft
The free phone number for MCE is excellent as you are on fora while with them
When I got the gtr they did want to insure it as a zzr which took about 20 mins to sort out !
