Noticed over the weekend that my throttle has a bit more freeplay than usual ( I don't know whether I've never noticed it before but I don't like it ). According to the manual, it should have about 2-3mm freeplay.
The manual states that you should adjust both cables to get the freeplay into tolerance but this does not make sense to me.
Has anyone adjusted this before and if so, how exactly did you do it ?? The other question I have of course is WHY did it go out of tolerance ???

- thats to ensure that the play on either side of the throttle butterfly (fully open and fully closed) is even. The bike has a pair of cables , one to open and another to close.
- if you only tighten up one side to "cure" the freeplay , there will be less slack on the other side of the cable.

I fully understand this - but then surely that means you have to adjust both by the same amount ??

If you do adjust the play out of the cables, make sure that there is still the recommended amount of play left in the cables, thus allowing the throttle to remain neutral when the bike is on full lock
What are these cables you talk about?
