Well we've had a couple of frosty mornings on the trot here, so I got the heaters out ready for use under the bikes. The Rev Shed now benefits from being insulated in the roof and its also now got cavity wall insulation (with the aid of a welcome grant)
What arrangements for the imminant winter months are you all making to protect your pride and joy (GTR that is ) :mfr_lol:
Sod the bike, I'm off to Singapore in three days time....32 degrees, luvly jubly!
:mfr_lol:
OC .. I hope to copy your good self to a degree and get some insulation in ... the garage is part of the house but single skinned and although nice and dry with the de humidifier on it does get very cold ... so I shall be looking at simple "loft" insulation and perhaps the same for the outside wall with a small oil filled radiator on low just for those darkest months of Nov Dec Jan and Feb ..... that should do the trick

I hate you :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
BTW, I hope you have a bloody good time :taz:
Garage has a heater but no insulation.
The carpet in there seems to keep everything condensation free.
As for winter preparations,... ya gets yer thermals out (if yer a wuss) and ya goes for a ride.
Wet, windy, cold, these are all normal British weather conditions.
If yer a Sunny Summer Sunday Rider then good for you but personally I can't survive without my regular decompression sessions on the bike. This summer I would imagine you didn't ride much if you are an SSSR.
If I lived somewhere where there was snow/ice for months each year then I'd also have a snowmobile.
I won't ride on snow/ice but otherwise I'm a year round rider.
I am hoping to get some tyres for my GTR1000 shortly and get her Insured, MOTed, & taxed so I don't have to ride the 1400 through this winter. That said I rode the 1400 through the previous 2 winters and she has survived mostly unscathed.
Just to clarify my post ..I was talking about winter bike storage not winter bike riding
It's easy Rog, you strip and clean the calipers, change the oil and filter, utterly mint the bike so that it looks like brand new, connect the battery up to the optimate, park in a heated garage with a double duvet wrapped around it. THEN Go out and buy a Versys to use in the winter. Job done  .
Yup, duvets x3, carpeted garage, AC50, and optimate. I ride all year also so it's out with the Tiger again. Last winter was terrible so not expecting much better again. In previous years I have brought the bikes indoors but wifey now might have an opinion on that..........
