Title: Tea Pot One ..........
Post by: Rusty on October 01, 2012, 10:04:38 PM
Chaps ...
I make no bones about "advertising" my friend at work, Bruce Smart, who today, October 1st 2012 left The Cenotaph in Whitehall London to commence a 100,000 mile around the world trip in order to raise £1,000,000 for several fantastic charities .. on all things a Gsxr 1000 !
He plans to complete it in 18 months and has "left the job" in order to complete this mission in his life.
I was at the departure this morning as were many others including Ride Mag and Fast Bikes and it was an amazing send off.
Mad ? Of course he is, but he is a 6'6" bald jock and I wish him all the best. It would be hard work on a Gtr but on a Gsxr ????

Please take the time to check him out on Facebook or Twitter under Bruce Smart or Teapotone.com ... these sites just go to show how much planning has gone into this !!! And of course a little sponsorship would be nice !

Track him across the globe and keep your fingers crossed.

               Thank you everyone

               Rusty.

Nigel that is an awesome expedition and a great commitment to leave a job to attempt such a journey. I'm sure we all wish him a safe journey and success in his venture.

Oh dear ... I am sorry to say that he has returned to Blighty .... Very upset ... He had "problems" in West Africa ... Bike frame snapping, being fleeced at border controls by corrupt policemen and having guns pointed at him ..... Not good I am afraid.
Don,t know wether he is going to try again and perhaps miss some places out and stick to a safer itinerary or what ... But just a great shame ......

Nigel, thats a terrible shame.  I'm sure he feels absolutely gutted. Perhaps as you say he will re-assess and have another go.....but even if he doesn't he's had a bloody go and what he did do of the trip I'm sure the memories and experiences will live with him for ever.

Corrupt cops on border controls? Dont believe it!!
