Title: Idling rpm
Post by: badaboum on September 24, 2012, 04:48:23 PM
Hey guys,

I have changed my blinker relay from the stock one to a digitalized one in order to prepare for the arrival of LED blinker and I have noticed that my idle rev is a bit higher : Around 1200/1300 rpm

Is this normal? what is your idling revs?

Do you think that there is a relationship between changing this relay with the revs?

Thanks from France

your idle speed should ideally be betwqeen 1050 ~ 1150 rpm

I cant see why there should be any relationship between your newly fitted relay and idle speed

You can adjust your idle speed with the black ended knob on the lower right side of your bike

make sure you tell your insurance company about the new indicators, my mate changed to them on his bandit and after his accident on a roundabout had his claim reduced by 50% because of his non standard blinkers that they did not know about.

Merci

- little silver screw on a pipe , near your gear pedal linkage.

I've set my idling just below 1000 RPM. I find that this also lessens the "clunk" when putting into first gear.

Nope. Absolutely no problems at all.

I think its detailed in the owners manual, you need to make small adjustments and rev the bike between each adjustment allowing it to settle down to your chosen setting
