Hi everyone, I will be picking up my GTR this coming Tuesday, really excited, but going to be a big change for me, only ever ridden sport bikes before and do most of my riding on the track and commuting to work.
The reason for me getting the GTR is that I travel from Preston to Guildford every two weeks and I fed up with £120 fuel bills every time (Volvo v70 petrol ) and sitting in traffic jams. Plus my girlfriend has just passed her test so I have started doing a lot more road riding with her and I want the comfort that the GTR gives.

It will be very different than sports bikes. I picked up my GTR a week ago and did 300 miles on the first trip and enjoyed the comfort
I've also got a GSXR1000 which is totally different.
Sat up at 90 is more relaxed than the 'being shot down a bobsleigh run' feeling of the GSXR.
I've picked up a lot of info from the forum such as suspension settings and have HID lights fitted to help with high speed travel at night which I never do on the GSXR.
Enjoy the change
:185: again! :mfr_lol:
Welcome JC, you've found a great forum, got a great bike, get ready for some Great fun

Hello JC and Welcome ... you will love the Gtr .. especially for a commute like that ! I have family in Guildford ....Merrow... anywhere near your work ?
Age and colour of your new bike ? Mine is now 18 months old and I just love it to bits .. commute between the south coast, Guildford and London ..... I enjoy the riding so much the time of year doesn't really matter to me !
Hi, i actually live and work in Preston and travel down to Guildford to visit family. Merrow is about 5 miles away from my parents house where i stay.
I have had my GTR just over and a week now and did my first commute down to guildford yesterday, it was so easy, managed to do it on one tank of fuel as well, so really pleased .
My GTR is a '09 in silver
Good stuff mate .. safe riding and keep us updated on the forum as to how you get on ....
don't forget the pics of your new steed, it may not be the bestest colour "magnesium of course" but if it's a gtr well, that's good enough for me.
