Title: loading gtr into trailer
Post by: stoketim on September 19, 2012, 03:36:02 PM
:help:sometimes i need to load GTR in a trailer with caged sides and canvas roof and was wondering about putting  a handwinch in the front  of the trailer to make life easier. where would be the best place to put a strap around the front of the GTR
1 -Trailer to low to ride in.
2- Swmbo could wind winch, while i steady the bike

Is it not possible to gently ride it in and sit it on the side stand while you lash it down?

could you not remove the canvass roof, ride it in, then replace the roof ?

As for securing I would recommend, the bar type tie down web straps which will  compress the front forks a little, plus some securing straps to the rear to stop any sideways slip, as Im guessing the trailer has a galvanised floor, either way the floor could be slippy especially when wet, something like this
