Title: A lovely afternoon...
Post by: Bryn on September 15, 2012, 07:19:32 PM
First little trip out with SWMBO on the back....

50 miles up the M1 to CMC bikes at Clay Cross... browse the bikes and kit, and have a toasted tea cake and a cup of tea

Then the back way into Matlock... heaving as usual, but discovered I could get the helmets in the panniers ... bonus number one

A good luck around in Matlock Bath, followed by mini fish and chips. Spotted this cool bike there

Then back home using Via Gellia, and visiting Carsington Water

The new screen.... Calsci Large...what a difference from the stock one  ..... it transformed the bike

The Mrs said ' it feels like I'm just sitting and being wafted along, its so comfortable '

So I think I made the right choice with the GTR

but we already knew you would like the gtr.. ho! by the way.. just thinking that "cool bike" you saw and took a picture of would be ideal for asif "Kwikasfuki" to use, while he's deciding what to do "bikewise" sorry asif, but just thinking of you fighting your way through all that traffic in the car when commuting :mfr_lol:

Roger, you just need to know where to look.

Bryn ... "Calsci Large" ? I have always been very happy with the standard stocked Gtr BUT sometimes .. in this wet weather especially ... I have thought wether a slightly bigger screen would be a bonus. I know there have been many threads on here relating to screens but I have never bothered reading them as I thought it was of no interest to me ... until now !
Worth getting then ?

For winter use definitely.
I have the +6" CalSci (was XL but now is L) but then I'm a lanky git (6'4").
Screen fully up I have to hunch a little to get no wind noise at all.
If ya get the Wide then make sure that ya don't have the hand-deflectors fitted as they will foul the Wide screen.

I find the Calsci large doesn't need to be up all the way to stop the buffeting on my lid.. .the standard screen I found was terrible... this one has transformed the bike , so personally for me its a no-brainer
