Having just rode my bike home, the standard screen is a bit small.....
Anyone tried the powerbronze flip screen , or can recommend a screen that does a proper job?
I'm thinking at least 4" taller than the standard one
:ohplease:
so you have bought it  quite a few have change their screens. I can't comment on which is the best, because I've stuck with the standard screen I find it to be ok  but I do know kawasaki made a few upgrades from the "pre" 2010 models  one of which, was the screen and is is 70mm taller! think most of the guys have gone for this screen. http://shop.heroblobs.co.uk/collections/kawasaki-gtr1400/products/calsci-screens-for-kawasaki-gtr1400
The standard screen on the 2010+ model is slightly taller than the standard screen on the 2007 - 2009 model however it is still not tall enough and I'm only 5'11" tall. I use a C Balieys after market screen and its perfect.
Thanks guys
Looks like the Calsci is cheaper than the Cee Baileys.... anyone else care to comment on their set up ?

Hi Bryn, I have a Calsci XL with which I am very pleased. 6' 2" bootless. I also have handlebar risers which give a more upright position and the Calsci still deals with that.

I think for me the Cee baileys has priced itself out..... the Calsci is expensive, but if it does the job it would be money well spent.... I'm only 5'10" so wouldn't need the XL one I think....
Just been speaking with an ex-owner of a GTR who said the 2010 model screen will fit my '09 bike ..... is that a worthwhile updgrade or is that problematic as well ?

AFAIK The current standard screen was available as an extra on the pre-2010 models - so yes, it should fit.
That's correct
Managed to pick up a Calsci screen advertised on here .... so looking forward to getting it on and fitted ... thanks for the input
Nice one Bryn, its good to see that you're getting the bike sorted now

hey Bryn, surely the best way to test the new screen is take it out int rain
nice to see your getting your bike sorted  but you may want to consider a headlamp protector.. http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/category.php?id_category=22 I fitted the skidmarx headlamp protector because it's a complete full lense, not 2 seperate lenses like some other makes that don't protect the centre of the headlamp. there well made and at £29.99 are a fraction of the cost to replace the full headlamp should it be belted by a fying stone. if you do buy one from skidmarx ask then to send you some extra sticky velcro pads, they can be a challenge to stick them in the right place first time, and once removed there :shit: at sticking again  so a few extra velcro pads come in very handy
Excellent idea 2kwacks
Just ordered one and asked for extra pads....
I had a headlight protector from new on my Explorer, funnily enough when I did a trip to france a couple of weeks ago someone else on a 1200 GSA had a stone through the headlight, completely wrecking it....
I said to him 'you should have put a headlight protector on it'
He said ' I was going to but it said not for road use, so I didn't bother '
wise choice  hope you orderd the clear lense and stayed legal for road use
Certainly did.... once its fitted forget it's there
