Title: Dip switch
Post by: trousersnake01 on September 07, 2012, 11:14:39 PM
Has anyone else experienced this where you flick from main to dipped and everything goes out.  Dodgy connection somewhere which I think is in the switch.  Just wondered if its happened to anyone else.

Have a go at squirting some ACF50 in the switchgear and see if that improves anything. I've never experienced what you've described.

Is it an electrical cleaner ?

Yes, I had this a few years ago.

need to take the switch apart (not particularly hard) clean it up and put it back together.

I presume your talking about a pre 2010 GTR, if its the same problem suffers with bi-metalic corrosion in the inside of the switch as they are not micro-switches.  just spraying ACF50 / WD40 will not fix the problem.

2010-onwards has a cover plate so shouldn't cause the problem.

Hope this helps.

Neil

SirTou, absolutely no offence taken, I just wondered if it might resolve the problem.
