The previous owner of my bike put a pair of small stick on wideview mirrors in the lower inner corners. I thought they were useless at first but now realise that you don't look at them or into them, they are just there, and any movement in them attracts your attention.

Have a look at what this guy uses, they are available on Ebay. Could still be usable even with the retracting screen we have.

I have a pair of mirrors the same as Debs (her photo). Readily available on fleabay and I find them very useful, plus they are easily attached without any drilling or modification of the original mirrors.

+1, saw Deb's pictures, bought one to try, then ordered the other one. I find them invaluable, as stated before not for detail but to be aware of movement, and as positioned higher I can see beyond the (permanently attached) panniers

I was going to get a pair of the round stick on types , but it seemed to me that they would restrict rearward vision of the existing mirrors. So I've gone for a pair of top mounted mirrors, like Debs.

Thanks for all the input

I purchased one like Debs from fleabay and installed it, the glass fell out within 8 miles, I gave up after that.

I have the same mirrors and I  use them for a rearward view over the panniers and i angle the main mirrors out for a wide view. This works for me.

always thought the post 2010 mirrors were good enough to not really need blind spot ones, i had them on my 1200 , but this bike is so much better. worried that if i have blindspots i will get out of the habit of doing my lifesaver over shoulder glances

I always do my lifesaver look more than once when moving position, but its also nice to know if there is a car near me when not moving position... More mirrors is better for me

+1, nothing is a substitute for the lifesaver! I have continued to do it as a matter of course even after fitting the blind spot mirrors. I only use them to monitor movement.

I have the same ones as Debs, and they are excellent, however, if you get them, make sure the mirror is pushed hard against the backing plate as one wasnt stuck that well and fell off and I was sent a replacement straight away.
However I think they are great for spotting those cars that creep up on you.

Bought some off fleabay, and they fitted very quickly and work well, the lenses aren't super quality, but as an extra to the usual life saver and mirror checks they are worth having.

hi conman thanks for that i had a feeling they wouldn't i have bought a cheap pair of rotating  bling spot adhesive mirrors off e bay,i didn't think they would be much good but i was pleaently surprised, you still see you shoulder in them when riding, but whilst riding i found that when a car was  coming to overtake and it went out of view  of my bike mirrors, it is still clearly visible in my blind spot mirrors  so although they were cheap they are doing there job. cheers

i was letting the cars overtake me,so i could see if the mirrors were doing there job, which they are ,makes me feel a bit safer.

Blind spot mirrors!!!!!!Cars overtaking.!!!!!!! Humbug!!!!!!!!!Come and live in the Dales. There are no cars, take a road, any road there will NEVER  be a car overtaking. Bah, anyhow when I wer a lad on my BSA bantam a blind spot mirror was known as a neck, you turned it to see behind. The worlds gone mad, heaven help us, we are all doomed, the end of the world is nigh.  :helpsmilie: :taz:   :gun_bandana: :hammer:  :2guns: :censored: :censored: :censored:       :whistling:

Geoff you are a wag.......... :mfr_lol:

Mind you blind spot mirrors come into their own on the Motorway, Autobahn etc...but that's not somewhere that you would be seen so I guess that they wouldn't be of any use to you me olde chum  :mfr_lol:
