Title: Scratched Pannier
Post by: The Oil Baron on July 30, 2012, 04:58:22 PM
Me being a clumsy scrote, and all the other 'mates' who say "that's nice can I sit on it", not to mention me wearing lace up Alberg boots has resulted in a severely scratched pannier.  I know a plastic film is available but it's a bit late now...unless it will hide the damage :help:

Anyway I just wondered other than respraying the pannier in Kawasaki brown (why do they call it grey?). Has anyone any ideas on mending/hiding/covering the offensive scratches?

One suggestion was carbon fibre look film to hide it. That suggestion came from the first numpty who dragged his boot across it... :hammer:

If its not to bad you could try some T Cut Colour Fast Scratch Remover... It will cover most of them up.. Its worth a try

Leave it, it adds character, and 5 minutes after you repair it, it will happen again

Hi,I have black vinyl on the top of my green pannier.looks good.got it from a sign makers. If its repairable, try the dent companys who do touch ups on cars. They can usually repair a small area very cheaply.hope this helps.

Give it a polish then put the clear plastic on it , only you will know I have manged to score mine and thats what I did to hide it , looks fine , as you use the bike it pick up stone chips etc , I look after mine but its got some chips on it and I am not going to loose any sleep over it , that said its annoying when you have invested a lot of money in something so good .

As above mate .. polish it out, as much as you can then get the plastic on .. should be ok so long as there arn't zillions of bubbles under your plastic !
