Title: New GTR owner from Scotland
Post by: chauffeurman411 on July 29, 2012, 09:46:20 PM
Hi all, I'm Steve from Edinburgh, Scotland and the proud owner of a blue 2010 model GTR.

I have been a Pan European rider for the last 4 years since getting my bike licence, I changed to an FJR for 7 months but build quality was poor so sold it for the GTR after trying a BMW R1200 RT but did not like after trying a 2009 GTR the day before, look around and found a face lift 2010 model with 21,000 miles on it which I got for £7000 which I rode over 400 miles back to Scotland on with my first trip but not a great journey.

The tyres were both squared off as its looks like 1st owner only rode it on motorways in straight lines without leaning it over at all, got 2 new mitchlin pr3 fitted Saturday, dealer broke wheel sensor on rear and can't get front brake caliper bolt out after rounding hex bolt, taking it to main agent on Tuesday to get it all sorted, then the only thing is to get some miles under my belt on it.

welcome , interesting reading your other bike experiences as they are all condsiderations for my next bike, V surprised that build quality is poor on the fjr, i thought they were bomb proof.
My bridgestone tyres on my GTR squared off and not due to motorways and any wiggly road surface, just think they are not as dual compound as they make out.
Ive got a pr3 on the back now and its done 3700 miles and still looks new , my crapstone did 4.5k and was toast
